The trade machine glitches or something. This doesn't work as is, I did the math. Charlotte needs to send out a salary between $800K and $2M.

I read you saying something earlier about PPP trades counting the next year's salary as the outgoing value. But I thought it was the average of the current year and the next 4. Could that account for the discrepancy?

No, because then Charlotte would need to send out more because the average is more so than the first year.

PPP trades count this year's salary as the outgoing value, and next year's salary (or possibly the average, I'm not sure) as the incoming value.

It's the average of the whole contract including this year.

Then there's no way it works as is:

    Charlotte Gets:
    Gary Harris - $18.5M
    Kenneth Faried - $12.921M
    Mason Plumlee - $14.041M
    CHA Incoming: $45.462M

    Charlotte Trades:
    Kemba Walker - $12.0M
    Nicolas Batum - $22.435M
    Charlotte Outgoing: $34.435M

    125%+100K of $34.435M = $43.144M

Given the salary Charlotte is sending out, the most they can receive is $43.1M, but they're getting $45.5M.

What numbers are wrong? That's their salary this year. Harris has a 4 year, $74M extension, which averages to $18.5M. All the other saleries are correct. What are you talking about?

I have to go to my basketball game, I'll explain it later but your number for Harris is too high and it's not as simple as comparing the amount in and out. It is different for both teams in a PPP trade.

    Bottom line is it works.

No, it is the average of ALL of his contract INCLUDING his small number this year so it would be 5 years divided by $77 million or whatever. Plus you aren't factoring in that the two teams use different numbers not the same one when calculating it.

    It works.

It is different for both teams, and this doesn't work on Charlotte's end if it's an average of the 4-year extension. If it's an average of the current year before the extension and then the 4-year extension, then it works, but I've always gone under the assumption that it was the average of the 4-year extension.
