    Hey @TorturedBlazerFan

How about Brogdon, Snell, and Delladova for James Johnson, Adebayo and Mcgruder?

S/O to @hoopsjock for getting 15 people for this. I wouldn't have had the patience.

Okay guys, can you just hold off for a little bit longer on the trades while we finalize the details? And it is absolutely okay to offer trades in the public. Sometimes it's a good strategy to show your cards so people make offers.

BTW, @KeepOnRollin guessed the number exactly in honor of the Blazers Championship year of 77 so he gets the Blazers.

Do you want to keep the Celtics too or switch to a different team that is less involved?

Do you know of any websites that can help with keeping everyone’s rosters in order?
If not perhaps we can come up with something, or use a google doc spread that’s password protected? I could probably help make something.

Here are the rules (these are certainly open for debate if you guys want to change them). My main goal is to keep it fun but to also keep it as realistic as possible. Several of us know the cap rules well so please feel free to ask any questions at any point. Please read carefully:

    1) All teams are given as is in real life. Any trade exceptions, draft picks, players, etc can be used in transactions as long as those players are tradeable (which we'll get to in a moment).

    2) Prior to the draft every trade and transaction will use the 2017-18 salaries. Free agents are NOT able to be traded. Players with a player option are NOT allowed to be traded unless they officially opt in to their contract in real life. For those that haven't opted in or out before our free agency starts we will have people from the outside decide for them in a reasonable manner. Players with a team option ARE tradeable. Those player options are due on the days between our draft and our free agency.

    3) All trades MUST follow the CBA rules. Players with no-trade clauses in their contract are not tradeable unless an outside contributor agrees that it would be a situation that player would waive it to complete. For example, last summer LeBron wouldn't have accepted a trade to Orlando or whatever. There are several players who are NOT eligible to be traded. Guys like Wall and Westbrook aren't eligible to be traded until later this summer, same with Lou Williams. How we are going to play it is anyone who is eligible to be traded before the real draft date of June 21st is now eligible to be traded. For others we will treat them on a case by case basis. Westbrook for example isn't eligible until training camp so he likely won't be tradeable this summer. If someone else's date is in early July then he'll likely be available to trade when free agency is over.

    4) There are several trade rules to keep in mind. You can't reacquire a player you traded away this summer. Any players traded for can't be combined with other players to be re-traded for a bigger player for two months. For example if you trade for Aminu making $7 million you can't then add him to Zach Randolph's 12.5 million to get a $20 million player like George Hill. You can however re-trade Aminu by himself for another player. There are also certain players who have a poison pill contract and are very difficult to trade until the new league year (Wiggins, Gary Harris, etc). We also have to follow the Stepien Rule for draft picks in which teams can't trade future draft picks in consecutive year. There is a way to skirt this rule if the trade is agreed to happen at the draft but then those players and picks in the trade will not be eligible to be traded again before the free agency period starts. Please, please, please think about your team's future. It would be very easy to trade away 4 future unprotected 1sts but then you'd likely become the Nets and no one wants that. Lets pretend that in the future we will continue this game so you don't want to screw your team over.

    5) I was thinking of starting the draft on Tuesday 6/19. That gives us two days to complete the draft before the real one and gives us a full week to make moves. Does that work for everyone?

    6) At the draft we will have two types of trades just like in real life, ones that are effective immediately and ones that take place in the new league year. Trades that take massive amounts of cap space in July will not be allowed unless you can prove that you will for sure have the space. Just because a team has a certain amount of guaranteed contracts that seem like you'll have plenty of cap room there are roster holds and cap holds and draft pick holds that could make your space not as much as it seems.

    7) Free agency we will talk about how we will handle it later.

    8) Have fun!

Edit: You can't trade between your two teams.

I'd kind of like everyone in this to respond just acknowledging that you read this and that you are ready to start trading!

Basketballinsiders.com is by far the best in terms of just looking up everything about your team but there is a google doc spreadsheet by a guy named Keith Smith (or something) that works really well and we can just cut and paste transactions on there.

I acknowledge. I think we should start the draft sooner though!

Also, we could continue this, and simulate the season through 2K with all the moves considered. I could simulate a week a day, and we could play it out through another off-season, if people wanted! That's something we can decide on later though!
