I read a couple of obituaries. Not one mention about LSD. His psychedelic concerts were more about acid than his bisexuality. At the time, everyone knew that Ground Control and Major Tom were 2 parts of the mind. For new generations, the widespread drug movement has been written out of history by Republicans and their evil prosecutors. Tell your descendants the true history.
I'm glad he's getting the credit for his work as a taste maker. Bowie is responsible for discovering artists that might have gone by the way side. Lou Reed was working part time as an advertising executive when Bowie have him a second shot. He discovered Stevie Ray Vaughan and Luther Vandross. Artists now name check influences they were told to by their fashion consultants or agents. Bowie liked what other people thought was garbage. Sent from my SGH-M919 using Tapatalk
I saw him in concert in the mid-80s, he was way ahead of his time and was such a creative genius he stayed ahead because he was constantly evolving. A couple of my favorites that other people haven't posted:
Slow day at work today, I'm blasting Bowie and dancing like a crazy man. Hopefully nobody comes inside and sees me geeking out, or if they do, I hope the love Bowie too.
I know this might sound lame but that Fame song absolutely made the Pretty Woman movie what it is imo. RIP Bowie.
