He married a woman who was their age. And it sounds like she was kind of Type A and sounds like she very much ran his life, and wouldn't let him use a wheelchair. Instead, forcing him to walk around with a cane. This was probably all very good for him and probably contributed to him living to be 95 years old. But I could see the kids getting tired of it after butting heads a few times...

Being a Hollywood actor is kind of a different world. Usually they’re married 4 or 5 times and the kids are raised by nannies. There’s a chance the kids are coke heads in inpatient while this was all going on.
