Easily one of the nicest guys I've never met, and one of the few posters I've never found fault with. I will miss his maturity and insight, his humor and compassion, and his unwavering support for our team. A Tip of The Cap to a Real American. I met a Mike a couple times. Going out to his homestead in Milwaukie to pickup the tickets I purchased from him. I'd stay and bullshit with him about the Blazers for a good time. His eyes would light up about the Blazers and he always had good humor about him. Karla if you're reading this I'm the guy that grabbed the Birthday cake for you last year. RIP Big Fella
So sorry to learn that we have lost one of our own. Sort of puts all the BS on this board into perspective. RIP Michael.
i am not really a fan, i just registered to reply to this thread. i am michael's cousin and one of his best friends. even at the end he asked me how the blazers were doing and i googled the score. the team and all of you meant so much to him. it warms my heart to read all of your posts, thank you all so much for being such great friends.
For everyone wanting to know about a memorial service for Michael. I have been talking with Karla and she has read every one of these posts we are thinking of doing something this spring or summer. Karla really wants to hear from you and meet you as you talk about memories with Michael. Also in lieu of flowers, Karla is going to go to a bank next week and set up a fund you can donate to to help with all the costs she has incurred. That is what Michael would want. Thanks again for all the thoughts and prayers. I will say it was a very great Thanksgiving having Karla at our house for the last few days.
Can't believe i just saw this. I remember MGB from the BBB.net days. Although we never met, it's always a shock to know someone you've interacted with online for over a decade is no longer here. Rest in peace, MGB.
Sorry to hear this. He was a great dude. I'd be honored to contribute to the fund and attend a memorial if invited.
I will be talking with Karla tomorrow about setting up a paypal account. Thanks for all the support!! She really appreciates it!
RIP MGB indeed. Im VERY sorry to hear of his passing. He was always very kind to even this Lakers fan. Please post any kind of donation page (paypal or otherwise). I would like to contribute what I can as well. Sad sad news.
