Seems like Jabari Smith was the nearly universal #1 pick, so let's move on to pick #2. @Rastapopoulos' thread kinda leads into this one, so I'm curious how it ends up.
If we can't get Jabari first priority or Banchero second priority then I want a proven commodity for our pick or a really great one for both of our picks. I know there's a lot of Chet love and Ivey is a badass but I don't think they fit on this roster and would want someone else. For the purpose of this set of threads this is the last time I'll mention that on one of these.
To me, it would be a mistake for the Blazers to draft a player that isn't expected to be a plus on defense. If Jabari is gone, I would want to see what we could get in a trade. I'd rather trade for a player better than Jerami Grant (if available) with our #2 pick and use the Pelican pick to go for potential in the draft. Someone else mentioned swapping picks with Detroit. Of course we won't know until the lottery where every team will be.
Ok... but that's really not the point of this thread. All I'm trying to do is generate a consensus draft board here. Whether we would/should is a completely separate matter.
Like I said this pick would be the last time that I mention it. From here on I'll make my pick for our board and ignore the idea of trading.
OK. I will take Jaden Ivey at #2. I think he has as high a potential to become a star player as anyone in this draft. I like his NBA athleticism and ability to push the pace. I think he'd be the most exciting rookie to watch next season.
Got a tie at the top on this one. One o' y'all is gonna have to break this sucker before I can move on to pick 3.
