    From Reddit:

This article gets a lot wrong so I’ll explain it in my own words as a member of weird Celtics Twitter

Timelord is Robert Williams III and he got the nickname once he was drafted by missing his flight to Boston, then missing his first press interview, then sleeping through training camp. It was so bad that the FO made him move next door to the practice facility and got him an alarm.

All while this happened coach Brad Stevens when asked said that there was no issues with Robert Williams being late to practice or flights so people started calling him Timelord because he can manipulate and control the flow of time. It caught on and now nobody calls him Rob anymore and he just goes by Timelord on broadcasts, interviews, and everything else.

When he makes a nice pass he is Dimelord though and rarely people refer to him Lob Williams because of his athleticism and ability to catch lobs no matter how poorly thrown. Fun Timelord fact: he has the highest field goal percentage in NBA history and the highest TS% in NBA history. Hope that explains it.

    From Wikipedia:

    Personal life
In July 2018, Williams was revealed to have popliteal artery entrapment syndrome (PAES) in both legs. If it degenerates, the vascular disease could require a surgical procedure in the future.[21] Williams has two children.[22]

    Nickname
Early in his career, Williams has attracted the nickname "Time Lord" from Celtics fans, in part based upon his timekeeping faux pas upon signing with the team.[23][24][25] This has, in turn, gained attention from Timex. Danny Ainge has been recorded as preferring the nickname "Lob".[26]

In this interview, he did say at the end he does have a dog, a Presa Canario. Didn't say his name.

Were they paying attention , or really didn't understand what he said? It was pretty clear to me. Brogdon has thrown Timelord some nice passes in their time in Boston together.

I'm not sure who said "you have your dog with you?" I'm wondering if it's a local journalist because I don't recognize the voice.

i think of our 4 new acquisitions in the trades, the guy i'm most excited about is Rob. his impact is not captured via stats, but he makes winning plays. Watching the Boston team so closely the past two years in the playoffs, you can very easily see how much this guy does defensively. We just haven't had this kinda player since Oden.

I am also super cautious about getting too hyped about him given his injury history.

It's kinda funny, I think Aldridge is the best comp for Ayton, and Oden a decent comp for RWIII.

I have been thinking about the Ayton/LMA comparison too. Very similar.

Ayton is like old Aldridge, the guy who was still kinda soft with BRoy leading the way. He doesn't have the footwork, but his touch and quick feet are very reminiscent of LA.

Aldridge became a beast in 2011 after he got in the weight room, and when BRoy left.

    Nice video by @BonesJones

To answer one of his thoughts: Can Ayton and Williams play together?

After watching the video on Rob's passing skills from the high post/3-point line, I would say Yes.

The Golden State Warriors are effective with Kevon Looney and Draymond Green in similar usage, and Ayton is quite mobile for his size.

As long as there is movement in the offense, it should work, I think. Everyone would be a lob threat, including Ayton, and Ayton I assume has a better mid-range shot than Draymond or Kevon.

Interview with Rob Williams III starts at 16:00
    https://open.spotify.com/episode/47MEFARrgaSSgWM3bAJMNS?si=5d7151fbcdec44e5

Rob's (canine) dog's name is Bruno.
Rob is from "a small-ass town in Louisiana." He tries to be as laid-back as he can.
He has two kids, a daughter, 4 years old and a son about to be 2 years old in January.
He's been playing basketball since he can remember, thanks to his dad.
He says he's been feeling good when asked about his health.

It's important for him to be vocal. Reaching out to everybody, talking to everybody. Telling them "hey good job."

When asked about playing with another big man, he said communicating and having a plan is important.
You've got to be able to play off each other.
I'll be able to correct him and he'll be able to correct me.
When I come off the court , he'll be able to tell me, hey Rob, and when I go here, you rolling this way go this way.

LMA had elite footwork. Not sure Ayton is at that level

The Dog exchange is hilarious, I didn't even catch that the first time I watched it. I was confused about what RW was talking about, because I thought he was talking about a literal pet dog too.
