While his FT% is a huge negative in his game...Doc has handled it just incredibly bad. Granted Doc the GM has not given them a solid big man to replace him with from the 5:00 point until the 2:00 point. What a team with DeAndre needs is a solid backup big that can handle himself for the last 3-4 minutes before the 2:00 mark of each half.

If the Clippers had that they wouldn't have to work about the Hack-A-DeAndre at all. I've said it for years, Doc is NOT a good coach and he's showing he's an even worse GM. The guy has rode the coattails of future hall-of-famers for years now. In BOS, that team practically coached itself with 3 HOFers and a floor general like Rondo. Then he forces his way to the Clips where he has one of the best PG's of all-time. Through on top of this his constant bitching and moaning and you have my most hated figure in all of sports.

I was being sarcastic, and am glad you agree with me that it's a ludicrous prospect.

If they had a guy good enough to play during those minutes of a crucial game they would not be starting Jordan at all.
That is my whole point. Until the guy can make a free throw we don't want Him. He is going to lose them a series.
So what is your point other than the Clippers need another center?

....if you think a backup big like Kuofos or someone along those lines would be starting over Jordan you are out of your mind. Yes I would rather have DeAndre instead of Rolo and it really isn't even close. The guy is averaging rebound numbers we haven't seen in years and is pretty damn good defensively. With him screening and rolling to the hoop with LA outside I think our offense would be even better.

My point was that the Clips have Spencer Fucking Hawes backing him up...they need an actual backup C that won't kill them in the few minute stretches before the two-minute mark. Fuck, Freeland would even be solid behind DeAndre. Kaman is simply too much of a defensive liability to have out there with LA as our only big man.

Hawes has been a huge disappointment for the Clippers, and I have to wonder why that is. He should have been good enough to fill in for Jordan for the few minutes before the two-minute stretch. Not saying the guy is great, but he was never this bad. For some reason he is just not a good fit with them. it doesn't make sense to me. He should be able to spread the floor for Blake to work down low and for Cp3 to penetrate.

Shaq was also a terrible free throw shooter.

Shaq spent most of his career above 50% and closer to 60%. Not good at all but way better than Jordan.

Sign him up until Rudy Gobert becomes a FA.

Please....If you think that teams would not take advantage of Kuofos in the last 5 mins during a close game you again don't seem to understand the very nature of Playoff basketball.
Take Jordan all you want. But he will cost you a championship until he learns to shoot free throws and there ain't a Kuofos out there that can change that fact.
Kuofos is fine against the likes of Hawes and even Kaman but he would get torched by Howard, Gasol, Cousins and even Rolo, Mosgov, Hibbert and Bro Lo. We are talking Playoff basketball when the game slows down and the big men rule. Don't you think Aldridge would just destroy that guy for 3-5 minutes?

You do realize Kuofos is a very solid big man option right? I'm not talking about them playing 30 minutes a game. I'm simply saying that DeAndre doesn't play from the 5-6:00 mark until the 2:00 mark of the 2nd and 4th quarters. If you have a SERVICEABLE big like a Kuofos, Freeland, Brandan Wright, etc (which there are quite a few of in the NBA) to play at minimum those 3-4 minutes stretches, the Hack-A-DeAndre ploy no longer works.

If you think a Nico-RoLO PnR is deadly...imagine what it would look like with DeAndre attacking the hoop. Regardless, this discussion is moot since he has had one of the best contract year's in recent memory. There's no doubt in my mind that you are wrong though with regards to any team not winning a championship with him on their roster. The only way he negatively effects you in that regard is if your team's roster is not composed around this weakness and you can't mitigate it accordingly i.e. sign a serviceable backup.

This Prob should be done with every player on the roster including Dame and LA.

Think of it, if this organization sees an avenue to improve this team using one of these two in a trade can they just go and pull the trigger? I'd be fine with it. But I see a PR nightmare.

Sure as long as the team improves. But if they make the wrong decision then they will be fired and ridiculed for the rest of their lives.

I wonder what the emotionally attached fans like the Wooks would say. Scratch that, I know he would say. And It seems like there are more of those...or they're just the loudest.

I'll hate it until it's proven that the trade made the team better.

If it's for Raymond Felton, I'll hate it until the cows come home.

And I don't own any cows.
