I going to leave this one up to Olshey as he has earned the benefit of doubt imo. I will say that every center (even the stars) have a deficiency. Be it free throw shooting, no offense, only D. etc.

Solves one problem and creates many more. Lets suck again for a long time! No thanks.

I think Rolo's contract should fall somewhere in between starting C and back up C. I think we all want him back for the right price. He fits in well with this team, but there is no doubt he has limitations when it comes to rebounding. He is just not very quick to the ball. But he is smart, boxes out well and plays good team D. Not sure what that is worth with the new TV deal approaching, but I don't mind paying him a little more than he is worth. Just not too much more......

talk about knee jerk reactions... players go into slumps whiles others step up. Those roles could reverse at any time and more than likely will and then we will be here talking about how we shouldn't re sign CJ/Meyers.

His per 36 really hasn't changed much this year compared to last but your opinion sure has.

    "the Lopez acquisition was stellar"
"Just gotta love what Lopez brings this team"
"I don't mind paying Nic 12 mil per and Rollo 10-11 mil this summer"
"I would not pay Robin more that 7-8 mil per"
"I for one want Lopez out of Portland unless hes signs for 5 mil a year"
"Rolo is just not that good"
"don't let the door hit ya on the way out!"

One important consideration regarding Rolo's compensation is available options. Up until recently, it was assumed that Rolo was the best center we had. As Leonard has emerged and improved, Rolo-retention has become less and less essential. Keeping him around as a 3rd big behind LA and Leonard would be ideal, but I imagine he'll get more money and a better opportunity elsewhere.

Situations evolve, and opinions reasonably change.

yes, they do, and that is fine. But it is funny how fast someones opinion changes due to another player playing well. Meyers is doing great but there will be a time he isn't and again we can all make posts about how we need to just let him go.

There are always fairweather fans....when a player slumps he sucks..(CJ in Memphis) when he scores and doesn't make a ton of mistakes he's an instant starter..folks act like Meyers is a better option than LA. Look at the body of work and be happy our bench players have improved but easy on the sauce eh?

When did Rolo hurt his hand? Does that date correlate with his decreased performance? If so, is his injury permanent? If not why the hell are we that worried?

Or is unwilling to do because he wants to stubbornly stick to his "system".

I do think though that ML is more of a PF and Rolo is all center. So although I agree with your point, they really fill two different roles.

Good point. Not sure if his hand is the problem, but the dates do correlate. He has not played as well since he got back from that injury

Yes. Robin is tantalizingly close to so many balls...and so many of them go to the opponent or out of bounds. If he could only jump a few more inches he'd be a dominant rebounder, LOL.

The TNT guys were having fun talking about Meyers.

Ernie pointed out he leads the playoffs in 3 point percentage.

Shaq kept calling him Baby Sabonis because of his shooting -- and because he wears Number 11 . :)

I actually started having thoughts about Sabas last night! I'm pretty geeked at the prospect of Meyer's continued improvement!

Meyers Leonard was a revelation last night.

    Last night.

Can he set picks? Can he run pick and roll? Is he a league-leading rim protector?

No. Fortunately our GM knows this, and will keep RoLo where he belongs. His hand is clearly still bothering him, but he's way too valuable to let go.

IF Mathews is not the same player that COULD end up looking like a mistake. Then again it might not Wes is considered the heart & soul of this team. Afflalo would still be a very nice replacement to Wes as maybe even CJ. Perhaps CJ starts and Wes off the bench if Wes doesn't come back the same? Just throwing out ideas but by no means should this be considered a blue print easy decision.
