    Rockets are first in the division and currently hold the #2 seed. They will face 7 playoff teams, and 3 bad teams to close the regular season. It will be tough.

    How do you think Rockets are going to finish the season?

    @Utah - W
    Clippers - W
    @Phoenix - W
    @Lakers - W (The Rockets have to beat them once after the last 2 close games)
    Portland - W
    Orlando - W
    @Sacramento - W
    @Golden State - W
    New Orleans - L
    @Dallas - L (Win if we need it)

    56-26 - 2nd seed

    I want revenge against the Jazz, but I am getting tired of facing them in the playoffs. They make me hate this game.

    Utah ain't shit without flops and poor officiating. The Lakers won the last 2 games solely because Kobe took over in the 4th (including a game wining 3). He won't do it again.

    AK flopping like a bitch and the referee bending over for him
    yeah! you can keep that BS

    AB better pick up his game because Lowry is making a push for the starting spot. kid is playing some serious ball.
    Scola continues to throw up numbers game after game
    Yao and Ron are trying their hardest to lead the team

    love the hustle and effort that every player gives in every game

    What would it mean if the Rockets lose in the first round again?

    I hope they advance this year since T-Mac will be sitting out. I dunno, I'd just find that pretty hilarious. The one time T-Mac's team advances past the first round, he's not playing. :lol:

    it would mean the rockets weren't better than whoever they played in the playoffs. i'm not really worried about the rockets losing in the first round this year though. they've been so much better without tmac. i think as long as the rockets hold on to homecourt advantage in the first round, they should advance. too many of the other west playoff teams really struggle on the road so i'd expect the top 4 records to advance.

    So six consecutive first round exits wouldn't connote a need for change?

    Cause for Change?

    Have you seen the roster
    Saying six first round exits seems like you think it has been the same team

    this team is dramatically different from 2 years ago,
    Only Yao and Battier have been the main stays

    unless you are specifically talking about getting rid of Yao, I'll let you in on a little secret

    AINT GONNA HAPPEN

    The changes have not been quite "dramatic" as you say since the core has been the same for a few years: Tracy McGrady, Yao Ming, Shane Battier, and Rafer Alston (who, of course, is not on the team anymore). My point is that the Rockets have been consistently unsuccessful in the postseason. If they, again, fail to advance past the first round this season, why would that not suggest the team needs to make some changes. Seven straight first round exits seems to be more than a coincidence, no?

    I agree, the team already made a big move last year to acquire Artest because they were tired of losing, but if it happens again, you got to think that something big will happen. I was thinking maybe they deal T-Mac's expiring for another big name before trading Yao Ming though.

    the rockets missed the playoffs 3 years ago. so there isn't 6 straight anything. they also didn't make the playoffs yao's rookie year. this season will be the 5th playoff appearance in yao's 7 seasons. surely you aren't pretending as if the rockets before yao have any relevance to the current rockets team.

    and you don't think changing the entire supporting cast is dramatic?

    the rockets started with francis, mobley, jim jackson, mo taylor, etc around yao. when that didn't work out, they made huge changes and brought in tmac, juwan howard, bob sura, david wesley, and others. they gave that two years and when it didn't work out and the rockets missed the playoffs with both yao and tmac getting hurt, they made new changes. rafer alston was brought in(the year they missed the playoffs) and then shane battier that offseason. then last year carl landry and luis scola came along with aaron brooks. this year ron artest was added and alston swapped for kyle lowry.

    what exactly is similar about any of those teams other than yao ming? regardless of whether the rockets lose in the first round of the playoffs or win the championship this year, they are going to look to improve their team. that's nothing new, it's what they've been trying to do all along. it's not like the rockets have had even a remotely similar team the past 7 years. it's not even close. so it really makes no sense to suggest blowing it up as if what happened 7 or 5 or even 2 years ago has any relevance to the current team the rockets are putting on the court.

    big move? they traded a late first round pick and bobby jackson's expiring contract for artest's expiring contract. it's not like they really were giving up anything to get him.

    Doesn't matter what they gave up, it was a big move.
