Yeah, but Griffin was one of their important TEAM players! The Mavs are going to hurt themselves by not using their biggest advantage over any team: their bench.
The mavs are most likily not going to play the Lakers in the first round but if they do than I agree with starting Griffin. Most other teams I would play Stackhouse and Daniels at the 2.
Yeah, good point, man. As for the Clippers, I know I'm a big Dirk lover, but if you see the way Dirk dominated Chris Kaman last time, you'll know why Dirk could be smoking lots of threes down the gutter if Kaman is guarding him. I don't think the Clippers want to go loose on Terry, because Terry makes LOTS of straight-up shots.
Chris Kaman will be a tough guard for Dirk in the playoffs. The Clippers are loaded with offensive talent so the mavs need to take advantage of the Clippers defense. Putting Griffin in won't help that. I wish Avery would play Daniels more.
What, TOUGH?Did you see that 3 Dirk made in the grill of Kaman while being fouled, but no foul called?
WEll I don't know how much he could play Daniels more than he is now.I do agree he should be worked into the lineup, but the starting 5 before Howard and Griffith went down is hard to argue with.I still think Harris and Daniels should be the first backups in at their positions, and Stack coming in as always to bring some fire power.
Well, against San Antonio, you need to make sure your offense works out well.Diop/Dampier guarded by Mohammad, guarding Tim Duncan and MohammedDirk Nowitzki guarded by Bowen, guarding Tim DuncanJosh Howard guarded by Manu, guarding ManuAndre Griffin guarded by Tony Parker, guarding Tony ParkerJason Terry guarded by Tim Duncan, guarding Bruce Bowen
The best offensive lineup against San Antonio is Harris,Terry, Howard, Nowitzki and Dampier while not losing much on defense. Harris guards Parkers and vice versaTerry guards Bowen and guarded by GinobiliHoward guards Ginobili and guarded DuncanNowitzki guards Mohammad and guarded by BowenDampier guards Duncan and guarded by Mohammad
Terry should guard Bowen but I think he could guard Manu for a short time. He did well against Ray Allen and Gilbert Arenas.
Yeah, Terry is actually a decent/good defender, so we should put him on Bruce Bowen. By the way, we MIGHT be able to expect Manu and TD play horrible in the playoffs.Pop said that both of them might only play 10-14 MPG in the final 5-10 games of the season to give them rest, but we saw how it reversed on Dirk Nowitzki.Let's hope both feel exhausted!
I think the Mavs might employ the zone alot in that series, as they're afraid Tony P will make them pay by getting past whoever is supposed to guard.

They rested Duncan at the end of the season and they lost 1st seed to the Suns, and look how it turned out. They won a freaken championship.Playing guys to win regular season games when your a lock already is stupid and risky. And that's physically impossible for a player to play less minutes and to feel worn out compared to a player whose played more minutes and not feel worn out.
I was just thinking, let's say Tony Parker is starting to find holes in the lane. Would it be reasonable to make this the line-up?Center: DeSagana Diop (Shot blocking)Power Forward: Erick Dampier (Shot blocking)Small Forward: Dirk Nowitzki (All-around offense)Shooting Guard: Jason Terry (Perimeter Shots)Point Guard: Devin Harris (Drive & Dish)I think SF for Dirk would work, because he's being guarded by SF Bruce Bowen, anyway. Besides that, two excellent shot-blockers to stop Parker's driving, and then the complmentary offense to Dirk with Jet and Harris.

All Spurs would need to do is go small and make our centers come out. Also, I think it's a rule to never play 2 centers at the same time. That's why it's never done.(sarcasm)
Actually, Rasho is a C, and Tim Duncan plays almost like a C.I'm talking about SHORT stretches, not long stretches.

And what's the point of doing it for a short stretch? Give our centers some fouls.
