maybe so. I took his not wanting old guys to more mean Nash/garnett type signings, or trades of draft picks, that lead you right back to the lottery. Talked of moves that move the needle. I think a starting lineup of Lillard/Iggy/Batum/Aldridge/Hibbert(obviously only way I do it is contingent on matching on batum, and landing Hibbert) is arguably a top 3-4 team in the west. Looking at the top seeds from last year. I think it matches up well with OKC, not talent wise, just in game, matchup wise. I think it's better than whatever Dallas has(nothing, now). Right up there with LAL, LAC, Memphis. I would say it definitely "moves the needle" into that potential home court versus potential playoff.
Iggy, Hibbert and LA would be competitive. then add Lillard.....Iggy is a year older than Aldridge. certainly more of a go to option than Batum and a better defender.
I'm glad Olshey declared Lillard starting PG from day 1. No drama or confusion. Just give him the reins and see what he can do asap.
True. I was assuming that Batum was being matched in my scenario. I'm not opposed to PigglyWigglyIggy if Batum is in Minnesota. It's an upgrade at the wing, IMO.
I think it makes sense in having one wing out of the two who can create his own offense. Iggy at the 2, Batum at the 3. Or reversed, whatever. If we were going to sign Batum, we can get him to wait. Signing Hibbert starting at 12.9, we should have the space to add Iggy without tons added to Wes, and then sign/match on Nic.
Not sure why I had Batum in that scenario. I'll even go so far to say if Squiggy is available, try to agree to a deal in principle for a him some way, somehow.
