I was of Rod Strickland fan in his early days with Portland, but I don't see how this pickup can help the team. Strickland was always a very good ballhandler, but does he have the quickness to penetrate into team defenses anymore (he was one of the best penetrators in the league during his prime)? Strickland can help us on the boards, and he's probably still a good passer and someone who can deliver Yao the ball in the right way, but he can't hit an outside shot and probably can't run the floor anymore either. The Rockets offense depends heavily on the guards being able to hit open perimeter shots, and that's one area Strickland was never known for.

He didn't really show us what he could do in the 3 minutes that he played in the game. He missed a shot and got a foul. I agree that he is not in his prime anymore and we should be focusing more on our PF problem than our PGs.

We really need an athletic PF who can rebound, defend and also help out with the scoring. As we all know, our current bunch of PFs don't really defend or rebound well, they focus on their scoring. Although that does help, they aren't really in their top form. Both Mo's and Juwan's numbers are down from last season so they aren't really helping with their inconsistent scoring and their bad defense.

We should've went and gone looking for a solid, good PF and wait for the draft to get some of the mad PG talent available there. I think that would have really help us out now and in the long run.
