I missed most of the game. How did Yao play? I know it's early but were there any noticeable improvements?

Luther Head and Lonny should definitely get regular season minutes..they seem very impressive. at least 10-15 mpg? I also think Moochie is still a very competent backup so I think he'd do good as Rafer's back up [IMG] Usual good numbers from our stars I guess. According to the chron, Strom had a bruised arm or something..damn I was excited about how he would play but hopefully he gets a chance in the Magic game [IMG]

sorry bout that man, didnt mean to offend you, just want to clarify the fact

about skip, im not sure whether JVG didnt allow him to shoot pretty often, but when you have a clean wide open look you should try to shoot the ball rather than not shooting at all. And that was the rocket's bench reaction when alston rotate the ball instead of shooting the open 3. They were like "shoot the ball!"

luther head has been getting good reviews from everyone. but did you guys notice JVG's remarks? he said, "i think he should mix in a pass or two". [IMG] but overall head was spectacular.

also bill worrell and his luther head jokes. lol.

he said, "luther is head and shoulders above all the rookies" or something like that. haha and air bullard couldn't stop laughing. good preseason game!

I saw the highlights, I'm very impressed, moochie is much improved, and he's probably the worst player in the rockets. Luther head isn't another boki, he's gonna b a success in the nba after just watching the highlights. He has very quick feet, could drive in and passes well and has a great shooting touch. He also has great confidence and work ethic. We're a much improved team with additions of Alston, Head, Baxter, DA, and Stro.

    My first impression: Very Good

Tmac scored at will, so did Yao, both look comfortable and ready to play. But what impressed me the most were the other guys. DA committed alot of turnovers, but shot the ball very well. After watching him and Wesley play, there shouldn't be anymore speculation in here about who's starting, DA IS. Skip played well, he showed the advantage of having a true point. Yao will really benefit having him. Howard really impressed me, showing he can still hit the open jumper. Luther Head is the one that got me excited. I knew he'd play well, but he really proved that he might get some minutes after all. Not only did he hit his jumpers, he got to the rim at will. Plus his defensive intensity was higher than I expected. Baxter also raised some eyebrows. The only flaw would be the lackadasical defense we played as a whole. But I'm not really worried about that, JVG will definitley get that fixed.

    Damn I miss Calvin Murphy!!

It doesn't matter,I know what you mean, everyone did very well yesterday, but we also had so many turnovers,it's not a big case,I think,we still have 20 days to go,all of them showed there great talent.
hope to see Swift, his slam dunks.

I do too. Last night Matt Bullard was garbage! He studdered his words alot and alot of his jokes were weak and he sounded like he was reading off a cue card instead of watching the game, haha.

I think Drexler will be doing tonights game. Hopefully he can do better.

I know it's just preseason but I really like what I saw last night...the rockets seemed a lot quicker and faster than they were last season....Alston looked good,Head looked great, and Lonnie Baxter was a beast.......I'll be lookin forward to seein Stro get his first action tonight.....Even mooch played well....LOL........the rockets look really really deep.

Man as soon as the game came on and it was Bullard next to Worrell, it immediately set in that Calvin is gone for good.......I loved Bull as a player and he does say a lot of good things as a commentator, but dude is more bland than a piece of unseasoned chicken.

Luther Head did do a bit of ballhogging. HE seemed to always want to score when he had the ball. At one point, langford(or some other guy) was wide open for a three and Head wouldnt pass it to him. Of course he made the jumper, so no one really noticed. He has to distribute the ball a lot more, especially if he wants playing time at the point.
