Hood is a starting quality shooting guard. Maybe he's not an All-Star, but this feels like a move to replace CJ short term until either Simons or Trent is ready to take over.

I would not be surprised if CJ/Nurk get moved to New Orleans (or another trade involving CJ).

I dunno. I think he's also a 6th man type of guy. His efficiency is average to below average (slightly worse than CJ), but he also requires possessions and shots within the offense. You can't have him just stand in the corner.

I think Hood plays with that 2nd unit. You don't trade for someone to sit him. Either another trade coming or they use Layman has stretch 4 or Layman or Leonard or Zach gets bench. More likely it be:
    Curry
    Hood
    ET
    Zach
    Leonard or Layman
In the 2nd unit without another trade.

Perhaps you move Turner into the starting lineup and have Hood fill that spot off the bench?

Hood is just a volume shooter who usually misses most of them, but sometimes makes most.

I've called for a SF, so maybe he's the one. I hope so. I wanted a better dribbler than him.

On his good nights, he's a skinnier, weaker Harkless with no conscience about shooting. On his bad nights, he loses the game with his shooting, since he contributes nothing else.

But maybe he'll do alright in the Stotts system. I was repulsed by him during my week as a Utah fan. He was my #1 yuck.

Hoods can have big nights on offense. Plus with 2nd unit Stotts has something to play with in player that can score.

Wait till he finds out it's Portland Oregon, not Portland Maine.

Nope. They are worth a lot when in Olshey's hands. He's done well in the 2nd round.

Turner is better coming off the bench with the second unit to run the offense. He would be redundant with the first unit as you have Lillard and McCollum that can run the offense and very few ball handlers on the 2nd unit.

But I'm talking about if a scenario happened where CJ was traded. Who would fill his spot in the starting lineup?

I think he realizes that his performance waiting goes up starting now and the upcoming playoffs, if he can get to the second round or who know father, he's on track for year 5.

Hood would likely be the better candidate then as we would need someone that can help stretch the floor. It also depends on what we would get back for McCollum.

Turner and Stauskas are much better dribblers than Hood. Do not expect Hood to replace Turner in ball control. He is no temporary playmaking guard.

This guy was really good until he started caring only about his touches. At one point I believed he could turn into an All Star, but he stopped trying. Bad attitude with the Cavs last year as well and he is made of glass. Somehow he also changed his style of play this year and became king of midrange which is never good. definitely better than Stauskas and Curry, but I m not sure if he can just press some button and become the 15-16 Hood.

Think a trade is more likely than a signing, just from a financial/roster construction POV.

This year, the Cavs are also a horrible team. Wait till he finds himself open on shots with our team.

Feels like a stretch four will be the target.
