That expression has been used frequently before in an attempt to demean African-Americans. I just draw the line at demeaning any racial group of people. I once slugged an ass hole for demeaning my Asian wife when he didn't realize I was close by. I just don't put up with that shit, not at all. I was once on a casino shuttle bus from Portland to Spirit with my wife and her sister. They were speaking their native language to each other and two old ladies started complaining about people who lived here and spoke a different language. Apparently, any such speech was considered taboo. I tore into those two busy bodies until they shut up for the rest of the trip. I don't like it, I don't like it at all.
Well I do have bit of a different take. You are probably not old enough to remember a Monkey wrench. Today's adjustable wrench, probably first referred as the Crescent Wrench which replaced the Old Monkey wrench. Now in those days, no one hated the guy that named the Monkey wrench. Since Howard Cosell suddenly offended the world with his "look at that Monkey run" comment on National TV. The world has been searching even more ridiculous reasons to signal their righteousness when the word Monkey is uttered. Even when the contexts just does fit the indignity. I don't think it is Democrat or Republican, perhaps young vs older. Perhaps just some searching for indignities to clarify their purity. But I suspect they will, Carry on!
I could have used your help when another ass hole made a direct threat to kill my wife. But you declined. I should have let that State Cop persuade you a bit.
See you be on that bullshit... You're literally gonna act like it was ok that Cosell said that? Even back then people knew that was a horrible thing to say. See back then, just like often now, you're on the wrong side of history.
Andrew Gillum is about to be interviewed on Lawrence O'Donnell. That's the only show I watch on MSNBC.
Desantis is fucking disgusting... This is way worse than the idiotic comment. Here needs to keep running this ad if he wants to lose: And frankly, the trump cock guzzling just needs to stop...
Ha! Now this is an interesting take. What you fail to see or understand, likly due to your short time here, is that there were indeed days when words and saying did not mean what you choose to take as offensive. I can remember, you can not. Can you imagine putting a Monkey Wrench on the market today? How long would it last? You know what you guys would choose to dog whistle it. This shit is not new, it just a curious to me that it last so long. It if friggin ridiculous you know. But the list grows.
Stop. Just... Stop... I know what a fucking monkey wrench is. It's called that because it's shaped like a monkey's tail. You know I work for KOHLER right? We have plumbers who use those all the time. IT'S STILL BEING USED... It's also called a pipe wrench. The whole strawman argument that people don't know that reference or that people would react negatively to it, is bullshit. Don't try and sell that crap to me. And you need to stop trying to sell it on the forum. I don't know who's buying it...
Poor choice of word? or a carefully planted dig at his competition? Nobody knows for sure except for Desantis, but making comments like that which can be left open to interpretation is what can take politicians down. I have no idea who this Desantis guy is and what his history is regarding race, but if he has a history of these kind of comments then he just painted a bulls eye on his back.
You know what I love about this Florida race It's Trumpets vs Berniecrats!!! What should've happened in the 2016 election. Gillum, I'm listening to him now, is gonna give that asshat Desantis a smashing.
It's called a dog whistle. I'd like to add that dviss called him an ass hat and I think that fits him perfectly.
Never noticed that. Still don't. " Themonkey wrench, known asgas gripsin the UK, is anadjustable wrench, a later American development of eighteenth-century English coach wrenches. It was popular in the nineteenth and early twentieth centuries but is now used only for heavier tasks, having been mostly replaced by the lighter and sleeker shifting adjustable spanner. The termmonkey wrenchis also used colloquially to refer to thepipe wrench, owing to their broadly similar shapes. These are also known as aFord wrenchowing to this type of wrench being included in the tool kit supplied with everyFord Model A. They are still used by aircraft technicians, chiefly when large but lowtorquefasteners are involved." I have one onboard. I like it for large Bronse nuts. The Stillson will ruff them up, the Monkey wrench won't and I have no Crescent that big. Throwing a Monkey wrench in the works, usually will fuck up a machine. Same with a project even if no hardware is involved, likely race isn't either.
