What were you doing? You're not down in HOU, are you? I didn't think Blazer Broadcasting was carrying this. Are you working at a golf tourney?

The good is the enemy of the best. While I think we were the better team last night, we'll need to up our game more to win the series.

We haven't yet seen the best of Houston. I can only speak for myself, but I'm not complaining; I'm just worried.

Dame just needs to say lets get greedy. Blazers proved last night they want to win. Batum admitted to being intimidated so he should be ready next game.

This is silly. The replays didn't show Howard wrap up Freeland with both hands BEFORE Freeland wrapped Howard with both hands. The replay that showed Howard wrap him up was only shown once by KGW. Silly.

Hack-a-Howard was only happened 3 times resulting in 2-6 from the line.

Fouls were going to even out but not like that. If you don't believe the officiating was poor for BOTH sides. Then obviously you didn't watch the game without bias.

I remember three plays in the first half that were just terrible calls.
Fast break had Matthews going to the rim and parsons was straight up. Foul called on parsons.
One of the Blazers attacked the rim and Asik was straight up. Foul called.
T-rob goaltended hardens shot late in the 2nd quarter because it hit the backboard first.
The calls were missed on the left end of the court in both halfs.

if playoff basketball is what all this comes down to, then playoff basketball must be used on all calls and the Flagrant 1 called on Mo shouldn't have been called.
I feel it was a flagrant 1. But it isn't in the playoffs, because the playoffs are more "physical"
What about the blatant elbow Howard threw into Lopez's midsection? Was that a good no call? you know the one caught on camera?

Bottom line is the refs were terrible for both sides. Missed calls all around, if you don't believe that there are many reasons for it. Homer, bias, no basketball knowledge/etc.
But Blazers won. Need game 2 before they get back to the Rose Garden.

Odd that Batum being intimidated and Dame wasn't could explain why Batum isn't at a Pippen level. He definitely has the skill to be one. I wish Batum would just believe in himself more. He has the ability to be a superstar, he just needs to start thinking like one.

NBA issues state that Freeland, not Dwight Howard, should have been called for the foul with 10.8 seconds to play in OT.

It's funny how the NBA tends to issue these "corrections" when the team that they want to win loses. The NBA also said that Chris Paul got fouled at the end of their game, too.

What's the point in putting out that message? Many calls throughout a game are missed. :dunno:

Was wondering the same. Maybe they happen if a team asks them to review it afterwards? No idea.

Where's the NBA's statement on Lopez's phantom 6th foul instead being a travel by Dwight Howard?

Yeah no shit. That's not important though, because we're the small-market blazers..

    Fucking NBA.

The national guys are now saying that the refs jobbed Houston, and admitted it. What good at all could possibly come from pointing out one call in a 48 minute game, other than to let the refs know they'd better make damn sure the "right" team wins Game 2.

Yes, I'm a complete conspiracy theorist when it comes to the playoffs.

Meanwhile, Harden flops all over the court, and is never called for it. The NBA just validated the whining and flopping of the Rockets, and their team and crowd are going to be very emotionally charged on Wednesday. It will take a strong reffing crew to not completely hand the game to Houston.

Bingo. The refs called everything in our favor in the 1st half, and everything in HOU's favor in the 2nd half. They repeatedly tried to give the game to HOU on bad calls late in the game (two and-1s to start OT, fouling out Lopez and LMA). They tried to tack on a Tech when Lopez left the floor, but thankfully it was impossible for them to twist it into something it wasn't. But now everyone is going to point to this one bad call as the sole reason the Rockets lost.

I think next game we're going to need 6 guys in double figure scoring at least and have to shoot a high percentage from deep because there won't be many free throws. I also expect Mo to have a 20 pt game. This looks to be a tight, trading punches dogfight of a series. I don't think anything's going to be easy. I do think we can win this in 6 now though.
