Lakers will study the game tape and realize the only area they need to clean up on is keeping Utah off the offensive glass. The Lakers held Utah to under 40% from the field, and should have won this game by 20+ points, but Utah killed us on the rebounding battle. I think we'll see Fisher and Kobe crashing the glass more in Game 2 to help out and limit Utah to one and done. The drawback though is less transition baskets because you won't have players leaking out like we did in Game 1. I also expect the Lakers to run more two man games with Kobe and Gasol.
Kobe finished with 38 points, he was 8/16, 21/23 FTs (91.3%), 1/2 3point shooting, 6 rebounds, 7 assists in just under 40 minutes.

Kobe's is right there with Paul (or alone at the top) as the best player in the playoffs. The guy had underrated Monster fourth quarters against Denver as well.
Overall, nice win. I was glad the Lakers didn't choke that big lead and kept their composure during the Jazz's run. But we MUST do a better job of boxing out and rebounding the ball. We were killed on the glass all day and gave up too many second chance opportunities. The Jazz will not be turning the ball over this many times during the series, so in order to win, we've got to do a better job of rebounding. Kobe was amazing tonight, as usual. Gasol was great as well, and Sasha really gave us a spark off the bench. Good game Lakers, and good luck in Game 2
That game was REALLY boring. The Lakers CANNOT play the way they played in the second half and expect to win the series. Thank goodness we took an early lead in this one. But, that may have been the result of being over-rested as well. Also, like PJax said, the refs need to just let them play and stop calling tick-tack fouls. It REALLY slowed the game down. Look for the Lakers to play with more energy in Game 2 OR Utah WILL win, as much as it pains me to say. I think if we beat Utah, we are good until the finals.
It was nice seeing the Lakers hold Deron Williams to a 5-18 shooting. But next game, we cannot let them get 25 offensive rebounds again. Harpring is straight up a dirty player. I just saw the slow motion replay on when Turiaf blocked him and while he was falling, he pulled Turiaf down.
Boozer bitch is getting called for the pushing inside finally. Too bad I have HW right now though, I can't fully enjoy the game. :/
