Do I give a shit if he's a thug? No. He is a basketball player who plays tough, known as one of the best defenders in the league and is known for holding his opponents down in scoring. Enough said, the guy is a great defender and he does play TOUGH. How do you argue that?

Everyone knows Artest as a tough, physical defender.

That's just reputation. Last 4 regular seasons, Artest has had 15 technical fouls and 1 flagrant foul called on him. Kobe Bryant has had 55 technical fouls and 3 flagrant fouls in that span.

Artest was yapping it up with Kobe this season, I wasn't surprised.

Kobe is a tough physical player as well! your point being? I watched that gif... Artest was playing as physical as Kobe, but knows he can't match up offensively with him... So he cries like a baby from a elbow which he himself delivers as well? Like everyone said.. This is playoff basketball... Let get over it already.

LOL that scene was hilarious... I could see in Artest's eyes that he wasn't at all mad, he just wanted to tell Kobe to tell the refs what really happened. Too bad his body language didn't look the same LOL

*I remember a Hou - Dallas game where Artest gets fouled hard, and Artest gets called for a T just for glaring at the guy who fouled him LOL

He got in his face, didn't cool off then did a throat slash later, that one is on him especially with the ticky tack technicals they were giving in the fourth to both teams.

Re: Round 2: Lakers vs. Rockets Series Thread (Series tied 1-1)

Its weird Artest hasn't figured this out yet, even when the refs are wrong, they're right. I used to have this problem when i was like maybe 13, 14 years old, had a hot temper and when i knew a ref was wrong i would get mad about it and it would eat away at me, but maturity makes you realize that you have to move on because there is nothing you can do to change the call, and if you verbalize your disagreement in the way Artest does, it warrants a technical, these are the rules and artest knows that they are the rules, this is what makes him so incredibly stupid, i cannot even begin to understand the inner workings of that mans mind, he is like escaped lunatic from an insane asylum who happened to make it to the NBA, ahhh, what a weird guy, though he's pretty good entertainment! LOL.

I wouldn't mind more DJ for a couple of minutes, just for the defensive intensity.

He was saying he got in the throat. It wasn't a "throat slash".

Re: Round 2: Lakers vs. Rockets Series Thread (Series tied 1-1)

Watch his post game interview. It's not like he went up to the refs and started cussing them out or anything. He just went over and let them know what he thought. Obviously they made a bad call. If you get elbowed and the foul is CALLED ON YOU, you wouldn't go up to the refs and let them know that they made a bad call? It's not like he went to them in a bad manner or anything, he was just trying to tell them what exactly happened down there. Kobe had been dirty throughout the game, he was slapping Artest's hand when Artest was playing defense. Artest said he wasn't just going to go out there and get hit like that because he is a physical player. He wanted to let Kobe know that he needs to chill with his cheap shit.

Whether he was pointing out the hit or not, it looked exactly like a throat slash.

Artest fouled Kobe before Kobe fouled him.

And he said he knew he'd get at least one tech.

You just seem to love Kobe too much to accept the fact that he is a dirty player

Well he did say that, and his arms where pushing his face.

I accept the fact that Ron was stupid enough to get called for two technical fouls. After Kobe got his little sensitive one on Shane he knew when to shut up.

Kobe is a cocky player, straight up. After every shot he made he'd look over and taunt Battier. Battier calmly walked off everytime, but if you mess with Artest he won't calmly walk off everytime. And when were Artest's arms pushing off Kobe?
