I think Spain will edge this. Spain does not rely on a single player to win, while the Portuguese rely 80% on Ronaldo.

The Portuguese rely 80% on Ronaldo? He scored his first goal for the nation in two years during a match that was already a thrashing. Portugal are underrated and a few players have stepped up for them this tournament. They have what it takes to beat Spain.

From the game I saw today, ronaldo was doing all, free kicks, longs distance shots, you name it, it was a solo show. Spain have the ammount of players that can create and score over portugal.

Cristiano Ronaldo takes all set pieces because he's just that much better than anyone else at them. That is a bit misleading though as Portugal are here because of their team. They qualified for this tournament without Ronaldo scoring a single goal or even playing in all of their matches.

Fair point, they play more as a team without him. But Ronaldo is playing now and I'm sure he's aiming to be the best player at the WC or at least try to be Portugal's hero/savior, especially at this point in the playoff stages of the WC. He's an egoistical twat, I just know it.

Yes, he's portugal's best, but Messi overall best.

While Portugal do go as Ronaldo go, even if he's not scoring, its tough to base your judgment of Portugal on the match against Brazil. Portugal were defending with 9 behind the ball and had Ronaldo in the middle going it alone, so yes, he looked like the entire team. They'll be slightly better against Spain because they have to be in the knockout rounds. Should be fun to watch, but Spain win by 2.

Spain still insist on not playing Fabregas. Maddening.

Already more excitement in the first three minutes than in the entire Japan/Paraguay match.
