Understand the argument of Roy, but yours about Mills (A fucking role player that hasn't proved anything in this league to Roy) is laughable.

Well yeah Mills can try and be positive. He wasn't the #1 option of the ball club.

    Another overstatement.

As far as preseason games, Miller took it to the regular season as well. 2 months into the season.

End of the day you either make questionable comments or you don't. There's no good time or "better" time to make them.

Preseason + more than 1/3 of the regular season. That's a long time.

Roy said he wanted the ball more and that Blake was a better fit next to him. Is he wrong in saying this? It's what he honestly felt, and partly true as well as Blake can spread the court. If we're giving guys a break for being right, then Roy deserves that break here. Instead he was vilified.

Not even close to the same amount Roy has, and that's been my main point. One has been treated differently than the other for making similar comments. Their little tiff didn't start because of just one person - it took both of them. Roy took the wrap for it, Miller was proclaimed "right". Again, Roy, the franchise player, imo, was treated very unfairly. Their tiff was labeled as his fault and Miller took no responsibility for it at all.

Overall, I'm not a huge fan of the way Roy went about his business after game 2. My only point has been that he's been treated much different in comparison to Miller when he had his own thing going on. The guy got into a shouting match for crying out loud over his role. If Roy is being selfish, so was Miller.

OK fine, Miller was being selfish in October and the first week of January. Roy is being selfish during late April. I happen to think the games played during late April are more important than those played during October and early January. Feel free to disagree all you want, but the people who pass out rings and championship trophies happen to agree with me.

This entire episode has been completely overblown in my opinion. It's a non-issue.

You don't really think that, do you?

If a player says something in the middle of the summer about wanting to play more, it's just as bad as before tipoff of an NBA Finals game?

    That strikes me as ridiculous.

Of course games being played in the regular season are less meaningful compared to playoff games. Doesn't take away from being a "bad teammate", and there's never a good time for that. You either are one or you aren't.

In terms of being a bad teammate, no, there is no right or wrong or better time to make questionable comments. If you're a bad teammate, you're a bad teammate. You're not less of a bad teammate in December than you are in April.

I don't give a rats arse how talented a player is, it's not an excuse to have a poor attitude.

Roy needs to suck it up, and do what's best for the team.

    This is the playoffs FFS!

Maybe the Rock can say it better:

OK, so by your definition, is Brandon Roy a bad teammate? If so, why are you defending him so vehemently?

    At the moment, yes.

We don't need anyone crying to the media about anything right now.

Newsflash... Roy isn't defending him. He is stating that Roy has been treated way worse than any other player in the Blazers for doing the same damn thing! He isn't bashing Miller, Fernandez or Roy. He is bashing all of them for their comments and actions equally!

    Really???

Sounds an awful lot like he's defending Roy to me.

Please show me where he called Roy "bush league" for his comments. It sure doesn't sound like he's bashing them all equally to me.

I disagree. If there's no harm being done, then talk is just talk.

In the middle of the summer, and (to a lesser extent) during the preseason, no games that MATTER are being played. Any hard feelings can be smoothed over with time and before games count.

That is clearly not the case when talk is hurting a team when games DO matter--and especially not in the playoffs.

Repped and agree 100%. There is a HUGE difference in the impact of comments made in the preseason, or early regular season and similar comments made during the playoffs.

Obviously Brandon's comments didn't hurt the team and they didn't hurt his own game.

I am so happy for him and for the Blazers. Now we just need to have Rudy and Nic be on their game when Roy is and we can win this series!
