Roy suspended 3 games They can say it's the knee if they want to though. I love that our front office is trying to make this guy happy by trading for guys that fit his style......Especially since he can't play
Ya know "IFFFFFFFFFFFFF" Oden does come back intact, this can still be a good team. I think Nick, Wes and LA are going to rise to the challenge, and throw in Oden next year and we'll be okay! I think the offense should go through Greg if healthy anyway much like they did with Shaq, than LA and Wes will be wide open. I've often thought that Roy would get in the way of Oden's development for all the touches Roy thinks he needs a game. Now we can see just how good Oden is and better than that Oden can come back as THE MAN the Franchise!!!
Pandora never let hope out of the box, but I have the same gut feeling. Big huge IF to hang your coat upon, but why not at this point? LMA, Matthews, and Batum are all good compliments to a game where your The Man is down low and passing out of double teams. Replace Miller with an outside shooter, and you have an interesting team. Hell, a humbled Roy at point is a good enough shooter at distance to warrant a try. IF Oden comes back for the Blazers.
If Roy gets players traded for ones he likes, while scoring 4 flipping points and management caves in, this organization gets the punk award for sure!
I bet he is getting a full medical by a few other teams over the next three days. I hope he gets a decent bill of health, because it sounds like Roy's time in Portland is coming to an end. Ric Bucher said there were eight teams that have called about Roy, that leaves a lot of options for moving him.
You got to love a guy demanding a trade after a 4 point outing and milking a city for 90 mill..... WOW! That's rich!!!!
No way in hell. Paul Allen wants to have babies with Patty. If Patty wanted - he could demand a trade of Roy, Oden, LMA and Miller and it would happen!
I was chatting about this with some friends. We were all kind of wondering if this isn't testing the waters to see how the team plays without Roy. We could easily be reading more into it then there is, but after the Dallas game the other night, there was definitely a stretch when Roy wasn't on the floor, and the team made a hell of a run to get back into the game. Coincidence? Possibly.
As mook has pointed out, Roy has played better when he's rested. I could see it as smart to purposely hold Roy out of some games, in order to allow him to play his best when he does play. It might even increase his trade value a little....not durable, but still capable of star turns with rest. That could be an intriguing piece for a near-contender.
