Sad to hear Brandon Roy's retiring. Great contribution in a career too short. Wish him well in his next chapter.

    Re: NOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!

We should retire it why? Duckworth died for Christs sake. Brandon will be paid millions to spend time with his family. Get over the retiring number thing. He was a very good player for 4 years. Enough already

Roy and Oden played together 78 times. The Blazers went 50-28 in those games

For many, life is not just about money.

Roy can no longer do what he loves to do and excels at it on the biggest stage in his profession. It's tough to take that away from anybody.

I know if I want to run with my grandkids, I need to stop playing pick up basketball. It kills me everytime I walk past the court at my gym. . . can't imagine what a NBA allstar at age 27 feels like when he is told he may not be able to walk if he continues basketball.

    Re: NOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!

How so? Who do you rate above him?

Personally, I have to rate Jordan as the greatest player in franchise history as his name is inextricably intertwined with the Blazers.
Moses Malone has to be in there as well.
Bob McAdoo deserves mention as well (we took LaRue Martin instead)
    What about Kevin Durrant?

    Gramps...

For a single season, perhaps, but for his entire career? Fourth in franchise PER. Fourth in franchise MPG. Fifth in franchise PPG. Sixth in franchise offensive win shares. Ninth in franchise WS/48. Outside of the top 10 in most lists.

Statistically, it's arguable that he's barely top 10 in franchise history, let alone top 3.
