The Reading Royals of the ECHL, affiliate of the Washington Capitals of the National Hockey League and the Hershey Bears of the American Hockey League, today announced that the team has loaned defenseman Mark Mitera to the Grand Rapids Griffins of the AHL. Mitera, a fourth year pro from Royal Oak, Michigan, has four assists and four penalty minutes in six games with the Royals. This is the first trip to the AHL this season for Mitera, who has played 184 regular season AHL games with five different teams during his pro career.

The Royals are currently on the league-wide All-Star Break; but will return to action on Saturday (January 26 @ 7:05 pm) when the reigning Western Conference Champion Las Vegas Wranglers will make their first of two consecutive appearances at the Sovereign Center. On Saturday, some lucky fan (21 & older) is going to win a trip to Las Vegas courtesy of Boscov's Travel. The Game Day Broadcast kicks off at 6:35 pm on CBS Sports Radio (1240 am and 98.5 fm). Royals multi-game flex plans for the 2012-13 season presented by Steve Moyer Subaru are available at 610-898-7825 and through the Royals website: www.royalshockey.com.
