Roy knows we need a REAL low post presence! Without that, he knows the Blazers can't advance! He might also want a real offense, one that Nate can't provide. Let's hope that's what he says!
From BlazerBanter: Roy pointed two areas of necessary improvement for Portland: perimeter shooting — better shooting in general — and low-post play.
About what I suspected. I think he wants a PG that will play off him and not the other way around, and that PG needs to be able to knock down 3pt shots. Honestly it makes perfect sense.
I have insider information that says he asked for Paul Allen to move the Franchise to Seattle so he can play in his hometown. j/k
coming into the game late...but no they aren't normal process, if you want to over-react to something.
Blake is the PG Roy wants. Outlaw is a more dependable bench scorer than anyone we had in the playoffs with the possible exception of Bayless. I doubt Blake will come back, though, unless Roy begs. Blake's been traded by the Blazers twice now. It's gotta piss him off on some level.
I doubt he's upset. I'm pretty sure he understands that he's journeyman-caliber, and that's what journeymen do...they journey.
He basically is. The current GM is a lame duck and Roy is the face of the franchise. When he talks, upper management listens.
In that case, he traded away Blake and Outlaw for Camby and perhaps loves them less than you think. And then he signed Camby to an extension, so clearly didn't regret it.
Roy made his feelings known before the trading deadline. He specifically thought we could beat any team in a 7 game series without any trades. Roy would've rather kept Outlaw and Blake. He lost that battle. But now KP is out and upper management will be listening to their franchise player.
Without that Camby trade it's no done deal this team would have even made the playoffs ... and yes I know you're going to retort with how 'great' Juwan Howard was, but really despite the fact that he turned in an admirable effort and definitely plugged the hole better than I thought he would, this team was treading water big time.
