Did you watch Game 1? Did you watch game 6 against Houston? He did NOTHING. It is reason for concern.

Wow... if he's the only person who can spell M-I-L-L-E-R, imagine what would happen if they had to spell Wally Szczerbiak? :NOTMARIS:

So that means he automatically doesn't seem to care?

No, it just means he had a bad shooting night, nothing else. It's amazing you much you guys read into things at times.

Rudy cares and he worked hard in the game. His passes were even sharper than usual. He just doesn't shoot well, and it's been that way for a long time. He seems hurried. I don't think he's adjusted to NBA pace.

But he was GOOD last season (forgetting Game 6 of the playoffs). He shot 39.9% from the three point line and scored over 10 a game. Sophomore slump?

He himself has said that he wants out because he doesn't get enough playing time here. We are giving him time and he's not being aggressive offensively at all. His defense is whatever and he won't knock down a wide open shot even when given 3-4 shots at it! I would've knocked it down the second time. Most players in the D-League would've too. What the fuck is his problem out there? I'm not sure he cares as much as you think. He's put down our coach in the press more than once.

It's not even close between Rudy and Jerryd.

    http://www.nba.com/blazers/stats/2009/index.html

Rudy (64 games, half of them played while injured) has trumped him all season in 3pt%, FT%, ORB, DRB, TRB, STL, BLK, TO(less), PF(less).

Jerryd has a slight edge only in FG%, AST, and PTS.

Jerryd has made way more FT pts, while Rudy has made way more 3PT pts.

Counting pre-season and regular season against the Suns Jerryd was 12-33 this year in 4 games, 76 minutes total.

Rudy was 0-2 in 2 games, 16 minutes total due to being injured.

    No, he has not.

    Never.

He has said Nate and he do not play/view the game the same way, which is what Sergio also said, and what Andre also said.

That is not a put down, just a fact.

FWIW, Nate has moved a tad towards Rudy and Sergio and Andre's style this spring and hey, the team is better for it.

All that matters is the playoffs. Jerryd had one of the ten best PERs in the playoffs on Sunday night. Rudy was awful. And he was awful in Game 6 last season. Everything else you're typing means nothing to me.

I think Rudy will be fine. He didn't play that bad Sunday imo. He didn't shoot well and had 2 bad fouls, but he didn't turn it over, he had a couple of assists, and he grabbed 3 rebounds. He'll get his stroke going.

It's not even his offense that I'm worried about ... he just looks lost out there on defense at times and he's making huge mental errors on rotations. I'm not even sure I can remember how many times he let Nash get wide open when he was covering him.

I don't contend that he's sandbagging like some people suggested earlier in the year, but there is something way off with his game and his head just doesn't seem to be in it.

One of those 2 bad fouls was a phantom call...on that 3 pointer...Rudy didn't even touch him....

He didn't step up like he could have, he will get another shot tonight and likely in games 3 & 4 in POR as well...

I do think this playoff series is the optimal time for Rudy to show that he is a legitimate starting NBA SG, like he thinks he is....He has to show up in a bigger way than he did in game #1.

I think so too. He did not shoot well - but other than that - did not seem like he was not trying or was mentally out of the game. Rudy will be fine.

You know, he doesn't have to live up to his own hype to please me. But he needs to come ready to play. Missing all those wide open shots is inexcusable. Give us 10-12 points on 50% shooting or better, a couple assists, and a couple boards, a steal and I won't complain.
