This can't be true. Quick knows less than every anonymous poster on this board. He's actually never even talked to Cho!!!!

Good. Fuck the Bulls. Why the hell should we give them a "potential starter" for a low first round pick?

WOW seven page Soap Opera. Must be Rudy. RUDY. That really is a celebrity type name isn't it. Why doesn't RUDY, go to LA and pretend that he's something that he's not, and play for the FAKERS!

Really what this comes down to is Public Negotiations, this shit happens all the time, usually behind closed doors, but I guess being a celebrity your always in the public eye living out loud, Rudy has been a celebrity since the day he was born.

NOBODY in Portland can relate to that

Does anyone know what would be all the implications if he refuses to play; apparently we wouldn't have to pay him, but would his salary still count against our salary cap? Would he still count against our 15 man roster? Are there any provisions in NBA bylaws for him (with the help of a Euro team) to buy out his contract (I would demand at least 3 million dollars)? If it was bought out, would his salary still count against Portland's cap?

Obviously this move by the agent is to put pressure on the Blazers to trade Rudy. I liked Cho's reaction about not being strong armed.

Rudy threating to not report to training camp helps alvieate the glut at the SG postion, Blazers don't have to pay him and by trade deadline some team will be looking to improve thier chances in the playoffs by picking up a shooter and Rudy will be itching to play in the NBA again.

Let Rudy sit at home until a tempting trade comes along. If not . . . Blazers will be fine not getting an extra late first round pick and losing Rudy for nothing . . . not quite like losing Lebron, Bosh or Melo for nothing.

You make a good point about the glut of two guards GO_Time, even with him refusing to report we've got Eliot, Wesley, Jerryd and Roy slotted and that's still a whole lotta shooting guards even if you are generous and assume that Jerryd will pick minutes at the one.

Maybe we should be breathing a sigh of relief that he won't be sulking on the bench and poisoning team chemistry with his discontent?

This. Rudy was a late first round pick. We already signed his replacement. I said from the beginning a first round pick would be a fair deal for him. IF (that's if) Cho passed up those trades because of his Mr. Cautious approach, he's worse than Pritchard.

To be fair, we never heard anything of the sort this past year. In fact, MB and MR used to comment about how Rudy was never a cancer, even when he had reasons to be upset with Nate.

Meh, this statement is just Rudy trying to put pressure on the Blazers. Like others have said, he doesn't have the leverage. You don't think they'll force him to sit for two years? I do.

The best thing for Rudy to do is to play nice. If he has to start the year here, he had better play his ass off because raising his value is the only way he's getting traded.

Yeah, Rudy is being a Primadonna, that's for sure, but, I still say none of this comes up if we had a coach who would just let the players play within their own styles/strength.
Instead, Nate tries to force them into the 'Sarge' mold.
We would have a much better version of Rudy, and an actual non-offensive offense to boot.

Not saying Nate is the sole reason for this outcome. Not at all. But I think his way of managing the rosters and styles is a contributing factor.

That being said, If Rudy is really being as bitchy as reported, then he can rot on the end of the bench for all I care. . .

He did play to his strengths. Then he took a nasty fall to the floor (With the help of Ariza) and became a little less reckless.
An injury or two later and he ends up struggling for a season. Struggling with open shots. You are right Nate is not the sole reason. He is not the reason at all. Just because Nate does not run the "ideal" offense for Rudy's strengths, does not mean he tried to mold him into the Sarge mold.

Rudy was fine until that flagrant foul. Some say it was losing his buddy Sergio. Mabe that was a factor too. But for what ever reason he did not play the same. Mentally or physically. I am sure he will bounce back playing against less physical competition.

We've entered new waters. If Rudy was "forced" to report and sit on the bench this coming year, do you really think he'd just sit there playing good soldier?

At this point I still believe Rudy could be a valuable part of this team if he wanted to be but he doesnt so just give him what he wants. If a first round pick is the best we can get I could care less about another rookie on the roster unless we get an unprotected pick from a bad team.

This team could be better with Rudy in the right situation but we wont be worse without him. Let him go.
