So basically they can dish it out but when someone does it to them they resort to flagrant fouls because they're upset... But I'm glad you find it understandable, I'm sure that means a lot to Rudy.

    I was at the game.

    I saw the play.

I saw Rudys body twist and flip.

Aziza is a liar. He wasn't going for the ball.

    He pulled Rudys arm down.

You think it means a lot to Rudy that some here wanted a fan to throw a beer at him? Or to physically threaten Lakers players or fans?

    That's ridiculous.

Good, Lakers needed a garbage man, Ariza might as well turn out to be that.

P.S rudy had it coming. Just saying.

Uhh... how did you come to that conclusion? Evil Knievel couldn't have made that leap...

Karma is a very nasty thing - you should probably look out for that.

    Karma is a meaningless concept.

Getting knocked the fuck down is real though. Rudy better remember that next time he faces Ariza:tsktsk:

Do you really think that seeing it in real-time in real life is better than seeing it in multiple camera angles, with the ability to play it back over and over and over in slow-motion? You don't really think that, do you?

Did he get the ball entirely by accident?

It's CLEAR that he was going for the ball IMO. He just went through Rudy's body to get there. If he wasn't going for the ball--if he REALLY wanted to hurt Rudy as much as possible--he could have grabbed or pushed his legs out from under him.

The way he went for the ball was illegal, and it was punished with a flagrant 2 foul. That's why they have flagrant 2 fouls.

Rudy twisted and flipped because he was high up in the air, because Ariza flagrantly fouled him, and because Rudy doesn't weigh very much. His flipping is not inconsistent with Ariza's stated INTENT of going hard to the ball.

I agree that Rudy had it coming. Hitting every shot he took, completely owning your team. It must have been hard for the L*kers to take. Now Kobe knows how the concierge felt; your team was bent over and raped.

What does this even mean? First you state that a flagrant 2 foul is semi-understandable because somebody celebrated early in the game, and then you build strawmen to support your ridiculous initial post.

Ed, he swung, hit him in the head and then grabbed his wrist. We're going to have to agree to disagree on Ariza's intent.

Increasing his "anti-homer" bona fides, but it doesn't really come off that way, does it?

Why is it so hard to call a cheapshot a cheapshot? Ariza's antics after the foul leave no doubt what he was trying to do.

You said that the position in my post would make him feel better. You were being sarcastic. You therefore meant that the position in my post would NOT make him feel better.

The only reason you would bring that up, assuming you weren't hitting keys randomly, was because Rudy might be consoled by other positions in other posts in this thread. Since you did not go out of your way to note that the things that I mentioned (beer being thrown, safety of players and fans) would not make feel Rudy feel better, it seemed to me like you were tacitly accepting them as things that Rudy WOULD feel better about.

Which is silly. Rudy doesn't give a shit about what anyone on this board thinks, and I find it likely that he would agree more with the post you responded to (explaining the illegal fould Ariza performed) than some others here that you did not call out.

Is that clear enough for you now?

    Ed O.
