Rudy doesn't attempt many dunks in a game, so maybe he has something up his sleeve. I remember when many of us thought Roy's hops weren't that great. He's shown us that he definitely has them, so maybe Rudy is the same way.
his 2005 pre-draft results were much more pedestrian http://www.draftexpress.com/nba-pre...ge=&year=2005&sort2=DESC&draft=0&pos=0&sort=1 STOMP
I'm embarrassed I only voted for Rudy once. I thought it would be pointless...Joe should have had the chinese vote?
Can Roy even pass? I'd like to see that. Seriously, I'm worried Rudy is going to be embarrassed out there. Just being able to sky and stuff the ball on a dead run isn't going to get it done.
Wow, all this concern about Rudy being an embarrassment. I hope he's not taking it as seriously as some people seem to be. I think it will be fun to see him out there, I hope he'll bring some creativity. Do I think he has a chance? Not really, but just having the exposure for the Blazers is great. I do think he'll be really entertaining in the rookie/soph game though.
I don't care if he gets embarrassed, as long as he doesn't get injured. I'm no fan of the all-star stuff - waste of a perfectly good week that could be used to play real games. barfo
Bayless competes with Outlaw in terms of raw dunking ability. Next year, it's Bayless time in the dunk contest.
I was in Vegas watching that game live at the Mirage sport book with about 100 NBA fans. When Rudy dunked that ball, I literally jumped out of my leather chair. I was sitting by some guys from New York who I was talking with, they asked what was I doing, and I said I live in Portland and am a Blazer fan first and foremost. What a great memory from a great experience.
To be honest I think that Joe Alexander with his height and insane vertical would be much better to have in the dunk contest. Don't get me wrong, I love seeing Rudy on either end of the alley-oop, but the dunk contest is a little bit different. I think he will finish last. Would be much better in the 3-point contest (and should make that).
Heres are some attempted dunks when we blew out Sacramento at home. Half dunk attempts are at the 49 sec mark of the clip. Second is at the 1:30 min mark.
