In the future or right now? If the former I can see a case being made, if the latter fugedaboutit ... not even close.
Sure, but right now he's just chucking 3's up. Not something we need when our starting SG is injured and not playing well.
Rudy can't create off the dribble very well, he can drive to the lane occasionally, but his body is so thin he can't take a steady diet of those, or he'll be visiting a chiropractor and and orthopedic surgeon in no time. His three point shooting is a valuable skill, because when it's dropping it really helps space the floor, but Rudy needs to work on his body and adding some other skills to his game or he's never going to be much more than a role-player, spot up shooter.
so are you saying that he's been unhealthy all season? back in november he took 133 shots. 84 were 3s. the difference was back then he was hitting something like 43% of them so it didn't seem as bad.
Rudy: 11pts, 2.1asts, 3.1rebs, 43% FG, 39% from 3, 16.25 PER LB: 12.5pts, 1.8asts, 2.3rebs, 45% FG, 34% from 3, 17.5 PER There's not much difference stats wise, but when you consider the intangible stuff like defense, passing, or BBIQ, I'll take Rudy easily over Barbosa now.
Not at all. He was recently injured and had to miss a game. He has looked a bit slow on both ends of the floor since returning (much like Roy, in that respect).
Barbosa is a far more versatile player than Rudy offensively: he can dribble drive, create his own shot off the bounce, and hit the outside jumper. Neither player are any great shakes defensively, and I don't know how you'd quantify who has higher BBIQ. Rudy has great potential, but right now he's not as multi-dimensional as Barbosa.
of course not being able to get to the rim(or just not doing it) is essentially the story for the entire blazer team with the only exceptions being roy and bayless. i guess sergio as well though he doesn't finish at the rim or draw fouls(not that it's a bad thing if he's hitting open guys for points). other than that rudy, outlaw, blake, batum, and aldridge are in love with deep jumpers.
i know. my point was that he's been in love with the 3 ball and long jumpers all season and that it's not a new development that could be attributed to his injury. the real difference being that he was knocking them down earlier in the year at a much better rate than he is now.
I think there is an interesting correlation between the way Rudy is used in the offense this year and Martell last year, at least in the fact that it seems that they have been taught to be spot up shooters. Maybe that is all Nate wants out of Rudy at this point, or maybe it is a product of Rudy's growing fatigue and injury. The line up changes have also disrupted the free flowing style of the second unit.
is there a way to save posts to be used in future years. come on people, i know most of you are irrational but this is getting stupid.
Right now doesn't mean shit! I'd take Rudy right for now and the future! He can flat out play. NO GM pass on him for Nate! None!
Nah, his FG% for January is better than November or December. He's still shooting .392 from three, and .482 from two. He just shoots twice as many threes as twos. But I really do want to see him create more of his shots. He hits some crazy looking threes sometimes, but I'd like to see him take it in closer on occasion. Besides, at this point, I'm betting teams wouldn't expect it. Just alley-oops and threes as far as they're concerned.
