This "rumor" got me thinking about Dame's role.

Say Neil went out and got a PG who can play defense and big enough to check SG's - how would Dame play in an Iverson type of role?

Iirc, Iverson was heavy ISO and ran off a lot of screens.

Honestly, I think CJ is correct that this offense doesn't really need a classic point guard. You have two guys who can operate the PnR well. At least one needs to learn to spot the roller better (CJ), but I think defining them as PG and SG is not necessary or good. Use one on each side and use whoever is hot or has the best matchup more. Even if we did have a dedicated PG I think Dame's game would not change much. He might get a few more catch and shoot opportunities, but I think most of the time he would still get the ball up on the top for a quick PnR or keep the ball moving.

No. He's not very good. He'd be an upgrade over Frazier though. So I guess if the price is right.

Would you take Rubio if it meant taking on pekovic? I'll be honest..Rubio in Stotts system playing with Lillard and mccollum would be nuts

That would suck. Rubio needs the ball ask the time and can't space the floor or play D

The price is $14.8 million in 2019 so I'll say no that's not the right price compared to the $800k Frazier makes.

He'd be surrounded by shooters, he wouldn't need to space the court. He's also a good defender, contrary to common opinion. He would be great for dame and CJ.

    I like a 3 G rotation of Dame, CJ & Rubio.

Rubio is a very good defender, a quality we need in a playmaking G. His assist to turn over ratio is incredible good. Plus he is the right age.

    Rubio-CJ-Harkless-Crabbe-Davis/Leonard second unit? Oh yea.

And please don't mention Tim Fraziers name. He's not an NBA caliber player. Not even a good passer, his supposed strength.

IF CJ & Rubio would agree/b happy in the 2nd unit... I'm all for this!:ygrin: For starters, Henderson & Crabbe @ the 2 & 3 or some other move?

Why wouldn't CJ be for it? Rubio would get him easier looks.

CJ feels like the kind of guy (most in the NBA feel this way) that once he's had a taste of being a starter... he'll see it as a demotion to come off the bench even if he played a lot of minutes. You're right, Rubio would get him easier looks & our 2nd unit would b deadly; I see easily see the advantage & love it!

CJ would still start. He would just switch to SG with the second unit instead of playing PG like he does now

I'm glad we're on the same page w/ ^ (I asked the above question about Henderson/Crabbe to see where ur mind was @), THIS would work; now, all we need is a very good defensive sf in w/ the starters; I like Crabbe but I want an even better defender w/ the starters if Dame & CJ r there.

And upgraded backup PG is high on my list of needs for this team. From a ball handler standpoint when it comes to rotational players we only have 2. IMO Rubio/Crabbe/Harkless off the bench is more dynamic and balanced than Crabbe/Henderson/Harkless .

My question is why would minny trade Rubio? Do they have another guy they prefer at PG? No way is lavine a PG. I haven't seen Tyus Jones play
