I highly doubt we will be able to just pawn Freeland off onto another team, without giving them a legitimate asset.

I don't get all the love for Meyers, anyway. Guy sucks. Has NO basketball instincts what so ever.

Better shooter and finisher than Pek!

    at the rim 69%
    3-10 ft = 42%
    10-16 = 39%

Thats true. That also might be because Meyers has a much higher assisted rate, i.e. others are creating for him rather him creating for himself, like Pek.

    Also, compare their shot charts.

I want my center in the post, posting up. Not roaming around midrange.

That's what most of his shots are, and that's where we were deficient last year. Every other player on the squad, especially Aldridge can take care of the jump shots, we need someone in there to rebound, rebound, rebound, and clean up messes at the rim.
    Off Reb/36 4.2
    Def Reb/36 5.8
    Total Reb/36 10.0

He is not a rim protector, that's too bad, I want one. But, he cleans up the glass, provides a dominant interior scorer, and sets picks that can dislocate bones. Pretty good, not perfect, but pretty good.

Freeland and Leonard are massively flattered that you said that.

One big worry I have with Pek is that his big improvement when Rubio arrived was because of Rubio, and that he's a player who's very dependent on an excellent pass-first PG. Which we don't have.

The flip side is; he sets a mean pick; which will seriously open up Lillards game. Our bigs set some of the worst picks on the planet. I was embarrassed!

I smell smoke screen. Try for Asik, if no go, get Lopez on the cheap. Hate giving up on Myers so soon. Once he gets more comfortable I see him being a solid C in the assoc.

Just over half of his buckets are assisted.

As opposed to 80% of Meyers buckets.

I think he is less relient than you think? He also had his minutes doubled, and I think the spacing we can provide with Damian, Wesley, and Batum is far superior to that of Minny, since Rubio lacks an outside shot.

Plus, having Love out most of the season probably helped his stats a little. Certianly gave him more chances at RB's.

Asik + Allen is the home run off-season, IMO. If there is any chance of that; then we better go that route.

I don't think we will be able to trade Freeland away unless we give up a pick or something; that just isn't worth it unless we are signing a real stud.

We could try to buy Freeland out, perhaps there is mutual interest on both sides to send him back to Europe. We could waive and stretch Freeland, it would spread his contract out over 5 seasons but save us almost $2 million this year giving us just under $11 million in space. Then we could offer Pekovic a deal in the range of 4 years $46 million.

Wow that would be a great possibility. Although, this freeland situation is a bit intriguing to me. I somehow have this slim hope that he can actually contribute in the NBA.

even if we waive him, wouldn't his salary still be on the cap?

You can use the stretch provision on him. Cuts his salary hit by half, but doubles the years. Can save roughly 1.5 million in cap this year.
