Hedo has 11.8mil coming in 12-13, and has a player option for 12 mil in 13-14. Are you nuts? That would hurt our cap space this summer.

If G. Wallace doesn't opt out, then it has no effect on our space. But I don't like Heedo as a player.

Ya it does. We not only lose our capspace, but we take on a significantly worse player in Hedo.

No it doesn't. G. Wall is guaranteed 12 mil if he doesn't opt out; which is the same as heedo. How you figure it hurts our space if Wallace doesn't opt out of his contract?

I do agree that he is significantly worse than G. Wallace, but he plays a much different game. Wallace, once he loses his athletic ability will drop significantly in value (like kersey). Turk can still have a decent value for years because he's such a great shooter and clutch as well.

Not to mention, if Gerald doesn't opt out, his cap number is 9.5mil.

    Hedo's is 11.8.

    That's 2mil of capspace gone.

    Check the numbers yourself: http://www.storytellerscontracts.info/resources/11-12salaries.htm

We're here nickel and diming over not getting Ridnour's 3mil contract because he'd hurt our capspace, and you guys are okay with Hedo? Makes no sense whatsoever.

Well Crawford is a guarantee of opting out. Wallace has no guarantee of opting out. I factored his possible incentives on the very same link. My bad for factoring them out.

You really haven't been following him this year, I'm guessing. He has dropped to 40% shooting overall and 35% from three. He sucks.

Orlando is out trying to add him as the cost of trading for Dwight, he's so bad.

By the way, I'm no fan of getting Turk. I am replying to the offer of Turk; which for pick reasons; would be a good move. I think we could use G. Wall to get picks from worse teams that have manageable contracts and better picks.

I'm perfectly fine with trading G for expiring contracts and decent picks in this draft. Something like Wallace for Kwame + GS's pick would be ideal.

    This Hedo thing isn't.

    Portland acquires Hedo.

    Hedo + PA's yacht = Hedo in a speedo.

For pity's sake - just say no!

This is cheating because it's not a real rumor. Well, the rumor is that Pau Gasol has said that the Lakers want to trade him for a "young star".

    How about this:
    Lakers get Carmelo
    We get Pau
    Knicks get Camby and Gerald.

Reasons for us and the Lakers to do it are obvious. Why would NY do it? Because getting Anthony was a big mistake and since he's come back, the team's gone to shit. Trade him for two defenders whose deals expire at the end of the season (well, Gerald's might not) and you can make a run
    (a) for the playoffs
    (b) for Dwight Howard in the off-season

Of course, the Knicks would probably rather ditch Stoudemire. I think they might want to ditch both, but you can't have everything.

[I guess I should say SOMETHING about the Lakers and Pau: Gasol is still one of the top 5 big men in the league. He and Aldridge are both versatile enough so that either could play C to the other's PF. It would be GREAT. The only annoyance would be reigniting the anti-Spaniard contingent of Blazer "fans".]

Fuck that! That would make the lakers instantly contenders again. I want them to fail and I want our team to stay away from any deal that will make the lakers better. They need to fucking suffer like we have.

I would LOVE that. Kobe is shooting horribly but wants to take shot after shot. Getting another player like Carmello that will just shoot and demand the ball constantly will put those two into a head butting competition that will just like Shaq/Kobe again. Do IT!

Lakers should get Carmelo for a bargain, then trade Kobe for half someone's team. Instant retool.

Can't because Kobe has a "no trade" clause in his contract.
