Lol you think he's some washed up player! I think this is hilarious! He did well in Denver. In fact he lead that team farther than any blazer did the last 10 years.

I'd be perfectly happy to see him try to revive his career in LA. I'm sure he and Kobe would get on swimmingly.

What I don't get is all the people undervaluing Gasol. He's the perfect complementary player (or star player for the Spanish team). You honestly think the Lakers improve by losing rebounding, defense, scoring efficiency and basketball IQ just to gain an inefficient chucker?

Melo put lifestyle ahead of basketball. He's the same player (ISO, ball-stopping, black hole) as he was in Denver but just not as assertive.

Of course he does, I wasn't thinking. That's why I don't do trades. I'd have to look shit up. :)

Pretty decent analysis. Except at the end when he seems to suggest we draft for 'need'. How has that worked out for us in the past (he asked rhetorically)? Draft BPA, period. Trade/sign free agents for 'need'.

Actually drafting oden was supposed to be the best player available and we needed a sf at the time. We had a dominate power forward in Zach and two decent centers in pryz and camby, plus we had Aldridge too.

But if you are referring to cp3 and deron Williams, we fucked up on that one.

Huh? We didn't have Camby when we drafted Oden

Shit my bad! But we still had pryzbilla and Aldridge. We needed a sf badly.

We also had Magloire the year before Oden too.

Funny that we had Jack as our starting PG, and he would be one of our better players now-a-days (probably even our best PG).

One argument at the time was that we already had Roy, Durant would also need the ball, there's only one ball, ergo take the 'other' BPA once a generation center. (shrug) Shades of Bowie (need) over Jordan (we already had Clyde and Paxson).

To be clear, I was all for drafting Oden. Passing up D-Will and CP3 because we 'needed' Webster and we already had Telflair, is the worst of all time, IMO.

Agreed. Oden was a horrible pick in hindsight - the Webster deal didn't even make sense at the time.

    Crawford for Augustin?

I would do that deal in a heartbeat!

I'd rather take a lesser player and get a pick, but Augustin would be a solid get, as in he could end up being a good PG for us for many years. If not, it really cost nothing

I would like to think that means we could dump Felton for basically nothing.
