Henson was one of my "guys" in his draft. Yes I wanted him over Leonard (but also wanted Drummond over both) so maybe Olshey made the right choice. Next year should tell us.

    That's quite a drop. I'm thinking Boston might be a better partner. #23 for #28 + #33. Then #28 for #35 & #37.

I'd do it if we got Robert Covington

Over the past 19 seasons (since 94) They're were 11 all-nba or all-star players taken in the last third of the draft (20-29/20-30). There were 12 all-star or all-nba players coming from the second round.
That means that 2.1% of 2nd round picks resulted in all-nba/all-stars
And 6.1% of late 1st rounders turned into all stars

One would think that would trickle down to chances of a role player.

So that settles it: Philly has to give us 3 picks.

I wouldve said yes before all the foreigners dropped out. Now that they did it's at best an average 2nd round while the late first is definitely above average

Looking at the mock drafts there looks to be some players that will be there at 23 that I want. But there is also about 1-3 players who are projected to go before we pick that I would not be interested in.

That might be true for Neil as well. He probably has about 20-22 players on his draft board he would take at 23. If for some reason none of them fall to us, he might want to trade down.

Only 2 or 3 (Lucas, Vezenkov, Luwawu) worth drafting dropped out. Plenty still in.

    My guess is
My guess is the trade (if there is one) only happens after pick #22 has happened. You don't do it before the draft and then watch one of your fave players mysteriously drop.

So roughly 2 guys out of 30 second round picks ends up starting and another 3-4 are rotation players. That's amazing. Counting first round draft busts, that means that out of the hundreds of guys who play at the college level each year, only 60 are drafted and probably only half of those end up having a career.

And most of those are drafted by the Utah Jazz...

I want the Pistons to trade for Rudy Gay, so SVG can just waive him like Josh Smith.

Hmm, that would indicate that they are aiming to fill up their roster with some cheap contracts.
