Roy already picks his spots to attack as LMA often gets off to good offensive starts early in games, and Miller is basically useless on offense if Roy has the ball in his hands in the 4th quarter. Frankly, I'd rather have Rudy on the court with Roy late in a game as opposed to Miller. Roy, Rudy, Outlaw, LMA, Oden. Win the game, fellas.
Why is it so many people feel that any player brought in has to be a long term solution? It's like for some reason, that unless a person is going to sign the max time deal, people don't want them here. Get real folks. If you get a talented player to play for your team for a few years, consider yourselves lucky. Players come and go. That is the way of the league. The bullshit dream of having a dynasty of 12 guys who stay together for a decade is just a bunch of crap, at best.
If you are addressing me, you are completely misrepresenting why I don't feel Miller is an upgrade over Blake for next season, let alone "long-term". I'll assume you're addressing me since I'm the only one who used "long-term" in this thread. Nothing in Miller's past shows he's an answer for next year, let alone 3-4 years down the road.
I still think you are under-rating the systemic change that a player like Miller represents. I have been as skeptical of Oden as anybody here....but even I am sick to death of watching Blake ignore Oden and LMA when they have position in the post. Yes, Blake is a good 3-point shooter....but how many of his shots are taken when he could have fed our post men instead? Simply put, it is *dumb* (and somewhat selfish) basketball.
Absolutely agreed about Blake not feeding the post. Question where did you get your Avatar art and what the heck is it?
I got it off a site called pictureisunrelated.com They specialize in "WTF?" images. I have no idea where they got the flaming-horned-death-viking from, but it seemed appropriate to the level of frustration around here! Probably has something to do with some Viking-Death-Metal band. Either that, or a convention for "13th Warrior" fans!
As humorous as that pic is Nic, my son sits next to me sometimes when I am on here. It would be great if you could remove that one.
Sorry if this has already been posted: http://www.nesn.com/2009/07/knicks-meet-with-free-agent-andre-miller.html
I really do like Miller, but at his age, and no cap space, you run the risk of getting yourself into a major pickle a few years down the road with no real PG. We haven't really tried the Rudy/Bayless at PG experiment yet.
