What's so weird to me is that I grew up in a time where we feared and hated Russia.

And now half the country is okay with Russia just to spite the other half of the country, in the face of overwhelming evidence that Russia is meddling in our politics and killing our troops.

Russia has undergone the biggest military expansion in recent history since Trump....they needed a port for their Navy and Trump gave them Syria..now he's throwing Germany under the bus to Putin's delight....huge military gains for Russia and China under Trump's watch..and now the lid is off for N Korea and Iran to escalate their nuke programs as well.....didn't take long for Trump to dismantle our checks and balances around the globe.....if he's draining the swamp I want the swamp back

The guy is fore sale. Or he was already bought. Either way, he doesn't have our best interest at heart at all. Part of me thinks he let COVID hit the US intentionally.

I get how countries change, we're no longer enemies with Japan and Germany, but the difference is, they changed as countries. Russia hasn't, and they're still trying to take us out. It boggles the mind that the saying went from "better dead than red" to "better Red than democrat".

Yeah but.....Nixon gave us the Environmental Protection Agency, oversaw every moon landing, pushed for detente with Russia and China, lowered the voting age, abolished the draft, etc, etc, etc. In other words, actual positive accomplishments. It wasn’t done in a vacuum, but at least Tricky Dick tried to lead. He looks like an American hero (And a flaming left wing liberal) next to the Moron. And I HATED Nixon......

Nixon was smart and well informed about international diplomacy and govt....just paranoid. Trump is just dumb as a lint trap in a drier

I remember when Nixon resigned. I was on board the Blue Ridge (we were invading the coast of California/Camp Pendleton), it was evening and we all stood around the PA system in our berthing compartments listening to his speech. When he got to the part about resigning, that whole ship (900~ strong) broke into cheers, no exaggeration. No matter where you were in the ship, you could hear the cheering. It was like a street party without the booze. I’d bet serious money that if the Moron resigned, the crew of the Roosevelt (And every other ship in the Navy) would capsize their ship just by doing the happy dance......

As you know I too served on the Blue Ridge and us being enlisted ranks....didn't have access to booze...the officers had it flown on board with mail bags when I was there the admiral had a world class liquor cabinet I delivered messages to him all the time and he never once offered me a drink though

Yes, Nixon was pragmatic about things outside his core (environment, Title IX), supported scientific exploration, served his country in WWII. And when he finally had to choose between his presidency and the republic he put the republic first. He was corrupt, vengeful, racist, resentful, bigoted, and downright nasty but Trump can make even Nixon look if not good at least less bad.

White House DENIES that Trump was briefed on intel that Russia paid the Taliban bounties to kill US troops in Afghanistan, despite NYTimes report saying president has known for MONTHS
    • Press secretary Kayleigh McEnany fiercely denied Saturday that President Trump had been briefed on alleged Russian bounty intelligence
    • A New York Times report claimed Trump was informed in March
    • It was alleged that the White House had still not decided how to respond
    • McEnany said neither the President nor VP Pence were informed
    • She did not deny that there is intelligence of Russian bounties to Taliban-linked militants to kill U.S. soldiers in Afghanistan
    • Trump's rival Joe Biden blasted the president over his potential inaction
    • The Taliban and Russia have denied the report

It's seriously concerning how China and Russia are both coming after us. I really hoped to never see a world war in my lifetime.

If this is true then I fully expect the person(s) who decided not to inform the president and/or vice president to be immediately fired.

And if no one is fired for this then you know it's bullshit and the president was briefed.
