NOW they are ahead of us. This is scary. All these teams around us got better. Our division is a monster. CBJ and the Wings coming in. And we add D. Moore and done...LOL.

I can't wait to see what they dealt. I bet it angers me...

Yup, Ottawa's now definately ahead of us. I wouldn't have dealt Silfverberg but I guess they had to.

    Pierre LeBrun

As per @DarrenDreger, Bobby Ryan to the Ottawa Senators for Silverberg, Noesen and a 1st rd pick

Silverberg is very good, but not much different than Miller. I have no clue who Noesen is, but better than MDZ?

This is a deal we could have made. But we are sticking with the kids.

    VERY SCARY time for us.

Silverberg has more value than Miller but I agree. This totally could have gotten done.

Lets stay patient Chuck and wait for the kids. LOL

    Bobby Ryan was the guy

Silferberg is better offensively than Miller, Noesen was a 1st rounder so not bad from a prospect standpoint.

For sure he does. But Miller is solid. And MDZ puts it over the top. I am a big Silverberg fan, and said so many times last season, so yes better than Miller for sure. But MDZ would put that in our favor IMO.

Always about the kids. We have heard that for years here. Guess we'll find out about Lindberg, Fast, and Miller for real this season. Dump will be happy.

Hard to stand back and say we are near the top 5 in the East after today. Being honest, right now best case will be battling for 7th or 8th.

they also have Zibanejad who looks very promising and Conacher, though he's not a given.

This makes Ottawa worse. Ryan is very overrated. Silverberg is going to be a star. He killed us last year. I'm glad he's out of the division. Rangers have never had any problems stopping Ryan.

I'd agree there Dump, Silverberg is very underrated, he's got a wicked shot.

I absolutely loved Silverberg when I saw him. He creates his own offense. Ryan does not. He relies on people to set him up. Especially on the PP.

Silverberg might be really good but he is not better than Ryan today. 30 goal scorers are hard to find even if you don't like his overall game. Ottawa is better in the short term. We will see how Silverberg develops

I love Silverberg also. Still think this was a smart deal though. Ryan is more proven. Short term I like Ryan better. And I also wonder why we didn't try to get in the mix.

    Go all in for Kesler...:).

b/c like you said Chuck, we don't need a 30gl scorer like Ryan :)

Come on 31. I said I would deal Miller and MDZ for Ryan or Kesler for sure. I said it again today actually. I am simply of the belief we don't NEED another big ticket item to win. Doesn't mean I wouldn't make a smart trade though.

You gotta be kidding me. I havent read thru the whole post because I'm too pissed right now but NO WAY we couldn't have put together a better package centered around DZ and if need be Miller. This was the guy I wanted all offseason.

Dump and some others I know you guys aren't Ryan fans but he is what we need. Not a game breaker but bigger guy who WILL score 30 goals, who can score on the PP especially with this coach, and who rounds out the top 6. VERY reasonable cap hit of 5.1m for 2 more years, lining up perfectly with our window.

This was a bad, bad miss. Get used to Hagelin in the top 6
