Well, then you or whoever calculated those stats incorrectly. Since he's come back on Jan 12, he's had 77 AST's and 34 TO's for an AST/TO of 2.26, better than the 2.24 he's had for the whole year; he's playing better in that regard. Where did you get those numbers? And for the record, I'm a bulls fan before I am a fan of any of the players. That's something that seems to separate me from most of the people on here. I call out everybody equally, but I enjoy calling out the fanboi's the most.
Hmmm... indeed I did. I probably just calculated off the wrong column in the spreadsheet I pasted the numbers in. :| . But I don't see any reason for you to be "calling out" anyone else here or questioning their fan hood. Please cut that out. I wasn't questioning you being a Bulls fan. Are you denying that you're a fan of Kirk? Not that there's anything wrong with that. In fact, I'm a fan of him too. I'm a fan of both, which is why I don't see any logic in him being here. Not useful to the Bulls, not useful to Kirk.
The logic in him being here is that he is really good at what he does in backing up the PG and SG spots. He embraces the role, makes the people around him better, and plays well and helps the team win. The bulls need more players like that at most of the positions. If BG would accept and embrace that role of sixth man, I'd say trade Hinrich for a better SG who can run the point a little, (or a dominant shotblocking center if they could get one) and sign BG. But the people who say player X is the second coming when they clearly aren't by any real measure really bug me, and people who can't add are a little bit annoying, too. And don't expect me to stop pointing out why they are wrong.
I don't look at his stats or play and think he's "really good". Where's the evidence that he embraces the role? I've already pointed out that Tyrus played about the same, only less without Kirk. But seriously, how about some justification. I think he doesn't embrace his role. I've seen him look off Rose when he ought to be giving it up. I've seen him run the point when he ought to be giving the ball up. Everyone wants to play more, and I don't think Kirk is any exception. Perhaps he embraces the role, but I suspect he'd embrace the "starting PG for Minnesota" role pretty enthusiastically.
As far as backcourt synergy goes, Rose/Hinrich is by far the best. BG looks Rose off way more often and Hinrich gets Rose the ball way more often than BG does. Noah and Tyrus are getting more minutes because they are playing more consistently, they are not playing more consistently because they are getting more minutes. Part of that has to do with both getting the ball more on offense and not get dunked on at the rim because guys are consistently getting beaten by their man. We can go on and on, but where's your evidence that TT was playing better before? You're wrong about the defense, and you argued based on bad numbers. In terms of the team, Hinrich is the fourth or fifth scoring option when he is on the court, so why would you worry about how much he is scoring? And his contract decreases every year. So basically everything you've argued is nothing more than your personal bias because none of the facts support it. Some of my arguments are obviously are based on opinion, but at least they are based on the facts...
