Last I saw the mavs are 41-11 and the spurs are 40-12. That means they are about equal so all about this the mavs have no chance crap needs to end.

Last time i checked Tim Duncan their best player is injured. Last time i checked playoffs and regular season i different.Isn't it strange that the spurs are playing medicore this season compared to the mavs but their only one game behind? What happens when Duncan get's healthy?

The difference this year from 2003 is the mavs played great early in the season but started to struggle around this time while this years team is actually getting better. The no defense and no rebounding thing does not fit the mavs style since Avery Johnson has taken over. The spurs are lucky to be 40-12 and every game is a struggle for them. How do you know Duncan will all of a sudden lose the PF? The only cure is to take a break from basketball and it looks like Duncan won't get that.

Earlier on in the season shot 42 percent and his jumpshot was off. He was also suffering from plantar fasciitis. When he recovered he shot 46% from the field. Duncan will get better ,we still have 30 games left.

I think the mavs can beat the spurs but they have to be clicking in all cylinders like they are doing now. It isn't going to be easy but I think it can be done.

Dallas have been clicking already, spurs haven't and are one game behind.

The spurs are an older team. The bench is really old for them. Dallas's young talent is growing by the day. Players like Devin Harris, Marquis Daniels, and Josh Howard continue to improve along with the new addition of Desagna Diop who has helped Dallas in the center position on defense. There is no telling how good this Dallas team can be. I guess you don't watch Dallas that much to see that and just make a comment that they peaked already.

This is an old topic, but being a Spurs fan and all, i gotta defend my team.Yea, the records are true, HOWEVER, the Spurs and Mavs still have to play twice this season, and when 2 teams only play each other 4 times during the regular season, you cant really say that one team is better. What scares me is the fact that the Pistons have beaten them twice, once at home and once in San Antonio, however without Manu if im not mistaken. But again, there is a huge difference between the playoffs and regular season, so the playoffs should be good this year.

Check these stats out.San antonio are on pace to win 65 games. They are allowing 88 ppg compared to the mavs 93. None of their starters are playing more that 36mpg. Compare that to the pistons who besides rasheed play all their starters for more than 36mpg.They also don't have a single 20ppg scorer and yet are number one in the west.

Woooh, let's bump this thread.I screwed up the west, i did say the mavs would take the spurs far but would not win. I was wrong there. Mavs proved their worth. The mavs didn't peak like i predicted and i was wrong over that also.I think i was the only one who said Miami would beat detroit. Everthing i said about Miami/detroit series happend. No-one could stop Shaq, Ben wallace could not stop shaq and if they doubled shaq he'd kick it out to Walker or posey. I also predicted they lost their intensity on D and didn't focus on it.Kudos to me [IMG]
