Whats funny is you bringing that statement up, when so many other superstars in the NBA do it all the time. Why the fingerpointing. I caught just the highlights on the reel and Kobe played great. Odom's FT shooting is unacceptable. The Lakers would have won if he hit a few more of them.

That's because the Lakers have lost 6 games in the last 10.

Dammit. After seeing in NBA.com that Lakers loss by Finley's game winner, I was like arghh... Again.

Incredible game by Kobe, though. He is C, L, U, T, C, H from clutch.

Lol. Smush had a really good game for sure !;D

Odom had nice statistics, but 4/10 from the free throw line... Man, we're still in the NBA and he should have a great shot or something.

I'm pleased with Bynum's game and ofcourse, Radman was the man this time.

Kobe was funny, missing a dunk but Radman hit an amazing triple after that.

Well, this loss makes me feel sad but we just have to wait til' the next game.

    Let the road trip begin.

    Still, Lakers for life.

Even though Kobe is really trying to be a leader and a pass-first guy, he just doesn't seem to fit the leader role quite perfectly. This isn't a knock on him, it's just hard to change your DNA sometimes. He MAY become that guy, but it's hard to see it happening. I don't like watching Kobe be The Man. It was much more interesting when Kobe was The Weapon. Kobe as quarterback doesn't fit. Kobe as running back - much better. He is struggling to fit into this role and he's doing well, but it's clear it's not his nature and it's also way less entertaining for Kobe fans. I'm starting to feel cheated by watching Kobe try this to please the purists or to challenge himself, and would much rather he find another team with a leader type so he can just focus on being Kobe and not trying to be Magic Johnson. Kobe with Sam Cassell, Tim Duncan or Steve Nash would allow him to be Kobe again and would make for better teams and better watching. Anyone who says they more enjoy watching Kobe now than when he was playing with Shaq - I find that hard to believe. And NOT just cause they were a better team, but just the play of Kobe in general was more enjoyable

So you would rather see Kobe carry the load again, rather than getting his teammates involved? This is the best the Lakers have been in 3 years, Kobe the facilitator is just as good as Kobe the weapon.

I would say Kobe had a great game against the Spurs, but what phunDamentalz said applies more so to games Kobe had against the Bobcats. Kobe gets stupid turnovers sometimes when he forces himself to make extra passes.

I'm upset that we lost, but not too upset. Like most have already said, we had a very good chance to win this game, only if we hit our free throws, and if Finley hadn't made the three. Either way you look at it, if we were to end up facing San Antonio in the playoffs, which may very well happen (SA is 3rd seed, LA is 6th seed), I certainly wouldn't go around sh*itting my pants. Had we won the game, we would have been 3-0 against the Spurs in the regular season. I know the playoffs are a different story, but I just don't really fear the Spurs any longer

No, not saying that. I'm saying that I would like a guy to join him who is more suited to be a "leader" type. Someone who is as experienced as he is. I think he needs to play with another superstar again.

    Kobe + KG
    Kobe + AI
    Kobe + Nash
    Kobe + Kidd
    Kobe + Dirk
    Kobe + TD

not sure if any of these have a remote chance (Kidd has the best chance) but I think with this situation Kobe would a) get a ring, [IMG] be more fun to watch.

How is Kobe struggling? He's been phenomenal all year long. Analysts, both Kobe lovers and bashers, have been raving about him. He's matured a ton this year, and it's done nothing but help the Lakers, for the most part. There is the occasional bonehead turnover where he forces the extra pass, but he's getting his teammates involved, he's getting them into the game. Phil and Kobe stated that he wasn't going to bail his team out this year, and they've improved because of that. It's still a rather new thing for Kobe, I think we still have to give him some time before we decide which Kobe is better for the Lakers.

Why don't people give any credit to the other Lakers for improving?

Is Kobe SOLELY responsible for Sasha Vujacic's recent success, Brian Cook's great shooting, Luke Walton's all around game, Smush Parker's improvement? I don't think so

Why don't they get any credit? They were getting the same passes last year and they missed them, this year they're making them.

Getting sick and tired of hearing of how wonderful and delightful this new Kobe is, I'm just not fooled. I am glad to see he is shooting less, though.
