I believe that the Spurs did this intentionally to insult the Lakers, after all the years of watching the Lakers do it to teams. Sending a message that LA can't contend. No I'm not trying to insult your team so don't make this personal. It's just a theory that you can take or leave.</div>

Ouch ... [IMG] Kick a team when they're down.

You are right though, the Spurs dominated us and made it clear they are the superior team to the Lakers. As a Laker fan all you can do is try and nitpick the positives from this game and hope the Lakers use it to build from. The Lakers are still young, and don't have the talent of the upper echelon teams out west. I expect them to be dominated in a lot of games this year, but I'm confident they can beat anyone on any given night and have a legit shot at making the playoffs as a 6th seed. Time is something the Lakers have a lot of with this squad, and are few pieces away from catching up with the Spurs and TWolves.

<div class="quote_poster">Quoting 9SA21SPURS20:</div><div class="quote_post">What are u talking about? The only players that have been on the Spurs 5 yrs are Malik and Timmy...the rest are fairly new.

Quit making excuses...the Spurs are just better , your Lakers had no shot. They kept it from getting out of hand but thats about it , the Spurs were never really in danger of losing the lead. But leave it to LA fans to make such a big deal of such a small thing...</div>
We never said the Laker's are a better team, the majority of us, probably all of us have said the Spurs are better or have the upper edge, we are just sayin the Spurs have more team experience than the Lakers and its the truth. We have 5-6 members from last years team and we don't know how to play together as good as Tim, Ginobli, Parker, Rose and the rest. They have all expienced bad loses like last year with the fisher and had a lot of ingame exprience as opposed to the lakers who have 10 games together under there belt as opposed to the spurs who have what, 170-180(2 season)?

Lakers put up a good effort, Odom showed up and put up the number he needed to, I think in my honest opinion role players like Mihm and Butler are getting lazy, Mihm isn't working as hard as he was in the preseason which is a disspointment to me and Butler needs to call for the ball more and cut inside and draw the foul more often. Again like Real said, Odom and Kobe where the only ones to show up to the staples center to play on the lakers and that was the big difference in the game.

Also, the one player that started to annoy me with bad shot selection was Atkins, we would have a 2 on 1 fast break multiple times and he would settle for the three pointer. I was yelling like what the hell is that, take it in draw the foul and or score the points. That happened about 3 times which cudve made a difference for the lakers. Also I noticed what the lakers are trying to do, in my opinon, to hard is make the extra pass in like pick and roll which caused multiple turnovers, like grant screens for odom, odom takes it in and passes it grant who fumbles and turns it over. Odom needs to take that to the basket and score. One thing Kobe needs to relax on is trying to get the foul when he shoots, I think he is trying to hard with to many pump fakes and such to score. Like one play I saw him try 3 pump fakes, he got the ugy in the air but ended up rushign the shot at the end and missing it. Plays like that loose the game and he needs to just take the simple shot and get the two points.

Other than that, Spurs played a great game, you have to give them props. They had good momentem thro out the whole game and just played a good game. Everybody did there part which is why they beat the Lakers, if Butler scored his points and Jones and others really came in and made there shots than Lakers could have pulled this one out. Spur's good game and you beat he Lakers fair and square, congrats on the 2-0 record, we sure know we will be trying to improve ours. [IMG]

<div class="quote_poster">Quoting Jurassic:</div><div class="quote_post">Actually that Spurs fan was 100% correct, but I'll let that go.

On another note, I'm sure you guys remember how the Lakers used to play with teams right? Being up by 20 at the half, and then "letting them get back into the game". Then "turning it on" in the 4th quarter.

What's makes you guys think that this isn't what the Spurs were doing? After all, Pop let Timmy sit on the bench while the Lakers went on a run. I don't actually believe that the Spurs were playing very hard. Did TP have 16 points? That was the quietest 16 points that I have ever seen.

I think the Spurs sat out Tim Duncan and stopped playing as hard because the game was well in hand. The game wasn't as close as the score indicated. The Spurs had the game won, so there was no reason to have Tim Duncan on the court. If they wanted to intentionally insult the Laker, they would have left Duncan in and tried to beat the Lakers by 50.

Tim sat down cuz he had 4 fouls in the third quarter. it would have been more dangerous for the spurs if tim had fouled out. and that "theory" about the spurs insulting the lakers, is BS i dont think Tim or Pop would do that cuz they are class acts. spur fans are so defensive, we nver said that the lakers were better than the spurs so dont go berseker mode all of the sudden.

Hmm at first when I saw his I was laughing my arse off but hey it could be somewhat true. Still, a satisfying effort by the Lakers. Spurs will clearly be more dominant then this as the season go along, they are a scary team this year.

Trust me this was a statement game for the Spurs, they wanted revenge in a big way. It was more than just a regular season game believe It or not.

I don't think that ALL Spurs are so defensive.
but sometimes you have alot of haters saying that they have a better team then the Spurs. and they don't
Which i see why it may seem that way to all of you.
but that's why we play these games.

It was a pretty good game during the second half. The Spurs are just a class act to watch when they play like that.

I think my Lakers still need some adjustments on the D end and they still need a bit more time to get used to each other and bond. It takes a while.
Just the D wasn't very good since we don't really have an inside presence (what happened to Mihm after Denver????)

I just didn't like that questionable time out in the end. Got me kinda, pardon the expression, ticked off.

Ok, I enjoyed the game and all but what about tim duncan and Kobe bryants little talk. Bowen was riding Kobe the whole time and he should have gotten called for it we all know bowen is a physical defender so when he put his hands on Kobe and Kobe throws his elbow to get them off I saw nothing wrong with that at all.

Overall tho the lakers were thouroghly dominated but at least Odom finally came on. His shots always roll out for some reason, that game they went in which is positive. We just need to pick things up on the defensive end and I think we will eventually get there, Kobe will keep pushing those guys. The lakers seem to have the passion just not the discipline.
