even wins don't seem to come easy, or with a full set of finger nails.

This team can't put away another enough to have a comfy lead. The only consistent feature about this team, is inconsistency...

"The Yankees had a full set of horse shoes up their butts this evening".

    ______________________

Jeez, seems as if whenever a Yankee pitcher and the team wins a game they have "horse shoes" up their butts, yet the other pitchers and teams never have "horse shoes" up their butts.

Here's a crazy thought just for the hell of it but I have to be wearing "rose colored pinstriped glasses" and only "a pom pom waving homer" would say this:
Maybe perhaps the Orioles were rubbing their "horse shoe" when Girardi chose to bring in Goody instead of Miller to face Adam Jones in the 7th inning today.
(Girardi then brought in Miller after Goody gave up the 3 run HR to Jones-
    - incidently, Jones is 2-13/.154, O HR career vs Miller)

And.....maybe the Orioles' pitcher had a tiny little "horse shoe" up his butt when Gregorius just missed a 3 run HR in the 4th inning over the foul pole by a foot/inches?

"And my man Strander (Gregorius) grounding into a DP top nine a couple of more runs there would have been nice".

Seems to be a recurring theme- "Strander".
It is very annoying watching the Yankees' incompetence w/risp.

Have to excuse me, still wearing "rose colored pinstriped glasses" and being "a pom pom waving homer" >>>
I think if we look we can find other whipping boys to join "Strander" when it comes to failing w/risp, after all, the team is batting .214 w/risp and "Strander" is batting .278.

...flip flop flip flop...your BS never stops...you're referred to by those names for valid reasons.
... You run and hide when the Yanx are sucking and then crawl out from under your rock when they win a game to fellate DiDi or ARod or tell us how we should act as fans and not to jump off the cliff yet because it's still early. Now you assert that DiDi is not that bad in relation to the rest of the team because he's batting .278, as if that should be a comforting stat.
... first off, if you are going to myopically cherry pick stats, at least be accurate. DiDi is not hitting .278, he's only batting .263 (.256 with RISP). Secondly, he also has an OBP of only .290, and is slugging only .371 and has an OPS of only .661 He also has an OPS+ of 78 (league standard is 100)...that is also abysmal...but evidently in your alternate universe, the rest of us should somehow be encouraged by those numbers.

    ...wash, rinse, repeat.

So here's my point on both the "Horseshoe" and "Strander" issues. It has always been my contention that no matter how good a team is at times a smidgen of luck is necessary. For the '16 Yankees a smidgen is not even near enough. Last night was a classic case of having right go wrong and lucking out in the end. As for the opponent I realize they have their luck as well but fuck them I'm rooting for the Yankees so I'm most likely to look at their situation. Gregorius or Strander has gotten that nickname for me because ever since the last couple of monthe of the '15 season through now that guy has come up in many situations with runners on and failed. I admit, I don't like him, would like to see him gone, but at present he's what we have, Cashman won't throw out the trash he's acquired. I never ask anyone to agree with me like others I have my own points and pretty much respect others. I've been a fan of this team for '61 years but when I think something is not OK I will so state. Everyone on this board wants the Yankees at their former status, it just ain't happening.
