Exactly. I don't see how his back injury, this year, is responsible for his previous 4 years of sub par play. He's shot slow, made poor decisions on offense and defense WELL before his back injury occurred.
Meyers is so white you can actually read his tattoo Meyers is perfect if you need to foul...he will keep other guys out of foul trouble so they stay in the game..his 5 fouls are useful
Meyers is the nicest kid! He's so nice that he gives 6'3" post defenders a chance by practicing his fadeaway during crunch time.
No other player or coach has mentioned it at all. Not one. I don't believe it. Not one player has said "He's playing through pain, we know he's hurt. Hes being a team player, etc. etc." Until someone does, it doesnt exist. And is just a mythical excuse to garner fake sympathy. And most of us aren't falling for it.
I disagree with you about him. I know it's easy, sometimes too easy, to make fun of him but he isn't that bad. I think we'd actually benefit from giving him more minutes even with all of the holes in his game he still has some strengthes. Yes, maybe he's overpaid, maybe he's underacheieved or regressed, but he's still one of our most versatile options up-front and I think if you checked his plus-minus you'd see that even with all his shaqtin-a-fool moments he's really a positive contibutor for us
He needs Kim Hughes or Chris Kaman to slap him upside the head during timeouts....Meyers is just not an alpha male at all...he needs that father figure and seems lost without them. 5 years in Stotts system and he keeps losing the starting job....I believe he'll be our Matt Bonner....trot him out when you need to shoot a 3, foul someone or to make free throws...
I don't know if I have ever seen such a specimen who wants to do good... as bad as he does. He wants to do good more than anyone I've seen on the court. He holds himself responsible, rather than placing blame on others, like most people do.
