<div class="quote_poster">Quoting Map1986:</div><div class="quote_post">if speedy is healthy for all 4 clippers games we win...jaric can't keep up w/ him and definatley 6'7 livingston is going to get constantly burned...</div> I can believe Claxton can burn any of the clippers guards driving from the perimeter, but I don't know how well Claxton will do with the Clippers shotblocking centers and power forwards clogging the paint. Kaman and a healthy Brand will probably be big defensive threats to a driving lightweight like Speedy. Last couple times when Speedy couldn't get it done was with shotblocking teams like Denver or others that love to push the ball and to run in the open court. All it takes is a block or a little contact to force a miss or a turnover and the ball can be thrown the opposite way to initiate a break. I think Kittles will be very dangerous in this type of role in LA when it comes to these fast break points. And you know how bad the warriors transition defense is. Watch some tapes and you'll see how our guys are either standing around or are just too slow to get out and stop the guys running the other way. Then when we tried to slow it down we lacked the inside presence or playmaking to get it done on the halfcourt track. So then we start running as well, only we don't do a good job of transition defense and recognizing the guys receiving the pass to initiate the break so we never make any stops.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting YayAreaFanatic:</div><div class="quote_post">The W's finished last year tied with Seattle for 4th in the West. Am I right? That was inspite of all the injuries and the lack of a stable starting 5. This year the W's are bringing back a starting line up, minus Damp maybe, that held their own last year. Speedy, JRich, Dunleavy, Murph, Foyle. At least that's my starting 5 on paper right now, barring any injuries. Then off the bench there's DFish, Uncle Cliffy, Pietrus, Davis, Dickau, and Biedrins. The only questions marks are Dickau and Biedrins. But I think a bench of DFish, Cliffy, Pietrus, and Davis is pretty solid compared to the rest of the league. Starting fast and letting the bench contribute early in the season is a recipe for success. Hopefully Monty finds a good mix of starters and bench to keep the momentum going throughout the game. Last year, you could really see the W's struggle through certain quarters. And I think that was a coaching error. But I'm looking forward to the coming months, first football, then basketball, plus with we have the olympics this year. Its going to be great.</div> With those type of players, a good offense would be a mix of motion offense, having Jrich or Speedy constantly attacking the basket, a little two man game between Dunleavy and someone who can cut or move well off the ball and finish inside like Richardson or Murphy, and setting screens for our best shooters on an 18-20' jumper (Richardson/Murphy). Hopefully the right substitions will create mismatches like Dunleavy at point guard or Murphy/Biedrens/Robinson at small foward, Foyle at power forward etc. As long as we mix it up inside/outside I'm happy. But, I think our midrange game will be the most important weapon on offense and I hope the go to guys become masters of it. It'd be like Calbert Cheaney's ridiculously high fg % except without all the dumb forced shots he has to take because there were no plays written for him to get him isolated. I bet CC could be 60% by himself if he wasn't so predictable on that baseline and he was actually wide open most of the time he took those shots. This Calbert Cheaney on the baseline: Fake a 3 pointer, dribble in, pump fake, shoot the 15' footer. Every single time, but he shoots 48-50%. Too bad Calbert doesn't do much else besides be a good role model.

This one crazy dude had like every warrior game as an mpeg file with commercials edited out. It was awesome but I lost the files and the server is no more. There's a site for warrior highlights if you want some of those.</div> Guess you mean gswpete.com?
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting DutchWarriorFan:</div><div class="quote_post">Guess you mean gswpete.com?</div>That's one of those awesome crazy fans, but not the one I was talking about. The one I was talking about had a lot of the full games. But I bet it was a lot of work and took up a lot of space and took a lot of time to download so it got yanked. gswpete.com is probably the best one out there that I know of for small highlight reels. Jrich, Pietrus, Damp, NVE and Claxton are really fun to watch but it's Dunleavy, Robinson and the point guards that make those plays happen.
I'm always excited for the basketball season. I think Pietrus and Biedrens will be something special in time (not only because of Defense) but they're so physically gifted (almost once in a lifetime players). So I'm worried if we lock up Richardson/Murphy and we lose Pietrus and Biedrens down the road due to the cap. In an ideal situation we could keep everybody, but Cohan is such a stinge that sooner or later we're going to lose the guys that will really make a difference. But I love Jrich and Murphy, but I think Biedrins and Pietrus will be the real studs of the warriors because they start with defense and they'll only become better with their offensive game.
Are you kidding?! Hell yeah I am excited. But it makes it easier knowing football is starting this month...
