One more time, most were "stolen", either through break-ins of cars and houses, etc., or illegally purchased and resold..now you have to also figure out how to eliminate common theft and the people who commit those thefts/purchases, which is a whole other animal completely. Good luck with that.
"Military task force"?...how in the hell are they supposed to "track illegal guns" unless those very guns have already been used to killed someone or commit some other crime? And increasing penalties?...many states already have a death penalty for murder/rape etc., how's that working? Locking the barn door after the horse has already got out doesn't solve anything.
And once again. If you own a gun and it’s stolen out of your car - don’t be a Fucking clown and leave a gun in your car. Lock it in a a safe at home. This is what you aren’t getting. There needs to be a major shift in gun ownership. No more leaving the gun around or in the glove box or under your mattress. Lock it the fuck up. If it’s locked up and stolen- like mission impossible they break into the safe, you’re off the hook. No luck needed.
Sorry but many states allow gun owners to have a gun in the car but are not allowed to carry a gun or a concealed gun on their person. And what damn good is a gun that's locked in a safe at home?...that's ridiculous. Here's a scene: A guy who also has a gun breaks into your house. As you are woken to the sound of breaking glass you jump out of bed and plead with the intruder and shout to him, "Will you please hold on a second until I can turn on the light and unlock my safe"? ^^^Those may very well be that very last words you utter before the guy shoots you, rapes your wife, and then takes your shit...... A loaded gun in the safe is about as useful as an unloaded gun on your nightstand.
Mandatory minimums. Any possession of a gun when you arent supposed to is an automatic 5 years. Increase the penalty for use of gun in a crime. Double the sentence Military task force is simple. Target areas with high gun death rates. Raid houses, checkpoints, rewards to snitch people out, etc. Mandatory minimums come into play here. Get guns and the people who have them scared to carry because of mandatory minimum.
Also increase gun registration and tracking. There should be a renewable gun license with mental screening and if you have a gun without the license, then jail.
I hate this idea so freaking much lol. Raid people’s homes? We got cops shooting Black ladies who are supposed to be doing wellness checks. Now you want to military task forces to go peoples property in urban areas whenever they want too, and you expect that to HELP The situation? Yeah Im sure minorities are totally looking forward to getting mowed down in their homes by military task forces who decided today was the day they, “check” their house. You may be totally ready to live in a police state where everyone fears their government (even more than they do now), having a group of military officers randomly raid your house shred it from the ground up looking for a loose gun somewhere sounds crazy to me... Which is what you’re gonna get a bunch of people on a power trip with weapons who have the right and obligation to show up whenever they feel like...? No thanks.
Yeah, no. https://www.themarshallproject.org/2018/10/15/police-with-military-experience-more-likely-to-shoot
Lol. Active soldiers the guys trained to kill. Got it. Man half my family on my dads side is special forces, green beret’s that type of military they arent trained to be your friend, they’re trained to KILL people.
Its just not going to work, you’re in a shady area so you’re home now has a target to randomly be raided by the military? Im all for stricter access to guns and even some of Calvin’s ideas for punishments but, come on, our military raiding US, not anything Id vote for and I have 0 guns or interest in owning a gun.
Not really, there’s quite a few countries with less gun violence that aren't randomly raiding urban houses looking for loose guns.
