I've always envied everyone who got to interact with players from ball boys and water boys to agents. I always used to tell my dad I want to do that, I want to be the kid who gives the players water. I just wanted to be closer to the game and sports writer gives you a chance to do that. We have some die hard fans here on JustBBall and the thought of being more than a fan and being with the team just makes it an awesome job in my mind. </div> ^ Future NBA man groupie. John Amaechi will wish he was 20 years younger. Seriously though, good luck. You're a great writer for your age, probably significantly better than me and I'm a going to be a senior in HS in a college sophomore level English class.

Thank God I became a writer in the post-Amaechi era. Thanks man. You're a really good writer too and I honestly don't think I'm better than you. You're really good at backing your points up and always have a lot to say. I actually thought you were in college because of your writing and posting.
Swish is cool now. I remember back in the day when you were asking me to get a Heat lounge going and you considered yourself a Heat fan, lol. Anyways, good luck with everything. I had pretty good shot at getting into Journalism programs but there are only a few schools here and the competition is stiff. I screwed up enough this year which didn't help. My first semester was smooth but then in the second semester I had a total of 25 days of suspensions, (two separate incidents) and I was also on my teachers and principals radar as well as bad side. I actually got into a couple of writing programs at a good University here (York) but I decided at the end to not settle and come back to school for a semester and work my ass off so I have a wide array of options. My other option was to goto Humber College, which also has a Journalism program, but I rather goto University.

I was so immature back then and it's pretty embarrassing looking back on my old posts.

It's inexpensive, and might be something to look into to get a better idea of how the industry works and talk to some people actually involved in it. Good starting point to network. I've noticed a lot of sports agents were former athletes themselves. Playing on a team gives you inside access to players and inside connections most outsiders aren't granted. I'd recommend getting involved some how with your college's sports teams in some capacity. Law degree is a must.</div> http://www.sportsmanagementworldwide.com/course.asp The owner of that online agent school spoke to my Sports Writing class in 12th grade and it's pretty legit. Although he said that it's mostly up to you to find clients and dreams of being an NBA agent are more than likely going to end up being an agent for guys trying to make it overseas and whatnot.
Ugh school. Well, it's not so bad, only 2 days a week. I am still kind of undecided in what I want to major in. Right now I'm majoring in Accounting, minoring in Finance, but I am not sure I want to be in the school of business administration. I don't really want a $50-$60k year job, but I know a degree in this field would be achieved a lot easier than a degree in Engineering (electrical, civil, environtmental...w/e), or law. Hell, as much as I hate science, I am considering Pharmacy. What to do? I mean, I'm starting my second year, and I think it will be way too late to change majors after next semester. ....my friend was telling me about this guy she knew who got his degree in business at UH, and after all that, he entered the school of Pharmacy to get another degree. Up until she told me that, I was pretty sure I wanted a degree in business, because it seems like the easiest, least frustrating path to success. Bust my ass for a couple of years doing some bs job, save save save, start up my own business/restraunt
