    This event from Johns POV

    John 1:15-36
    New International Version (NIV)

15 (John testified concerning him. He cried out, saying, “This is the one I spoke about when I said, ‘He who comes after me has surpassed me because he was before me.’”) 16 Out of his fullness we have all received grace in place of grace already given. 17 For the law was given through Moses; grace and truth came through Jesus Christ. 18 No one has ever seen God, but the one and only Son, who is himself God and[a] is in closest relationship with the Father, has made him known.

John the Baptist Denies Being the Messiah
19 Now this was John’s testimony when the Jewish leaders in Jerusalem sent priests and Levites to ask him who he was. 20 He did not fail to confess, but confessed freely, “I am not the Messiah.”
21 They asked him, “Then who are you? Are you Elijah?”
    He said, “I am not.”

    “Are you the Prophet?”
    He answered, “No.”

22 Finally they said, “Who are you? Give us an answer to take back to those who sent us. What do you say about yourself?”

23 John replied in the words of Isaiah the prophet, “I am the voice of one calling in the wilderness, ‘Make straight the way for the Lord.’”[c]
24 Now the Pharisees who had been sent 25 questioned him, “Why then do you baptize if you are not the Messiah, nor Elijah, nor the Prophet?”

26 “I baptize with[d] water,” John replied, “but among you stands one you do not know. 27 He is the one who comes after me, the straps of whose sandals I am not worthy to untie.”
28 This all happened at Bethany on the other side of the Jordan, where John was baptizing.

    John Testifies About Jesus
29 The next day John saw Jesus coming toward him and said, “Look, the Lamb of God, who takes away the sin of the world! 30 This is the one I meant when I said, ‘A man who comes after me has surpassed me because he was before me.’ 31 I myself did not know him, but the reason I came baptizing with water was that he might be revealed to Israel.”

32 Then John gave this testimony: “I saw the Spirit come down from heaven as a dove and remain on him. 33 And I myself did not know him, but the one who sent me to baptize with water told me, ‘The man on whom you see the Spirit come down and remain is the one who will baptize with the Holy Spirit.’ 34 I have seen and I testify that this is God’s Chosen One.”[e]
John’s Disciples Follow Jesus35 The next day John was there again with two of his disciples. 36 When he saw Jesus passing by, he said, “Look, the Lamb of God

    Hey ABM

Hope you dont mind. I had debated on getting a little deeper than lobbing verse, and with the "Who was Jesus" (sould fix that to who IS Jesus) I wanted those who really were seeking, to have a more in depth look rather than KJV and zero idea of context

    Historicity[edit]
Stained glass window of Jesus' baptism by Tiffany. Most modern scholars believe that John the Baptist performed a baptism on Jesus, and view it as a historical event to which a high degree of certainty can be assigned.[9][10][11][12] James Dunn states that the historicity of the baptism and crucifixion of Jesus "command almost universal assent".[14] Dunn states that these two facts "rank so high on the 'almost impossible to doubt or deny' scale of historical facts" that they are often the starting points for the study of the historical Jesus.[14] John Dominic Crossan states that it is historically certain that Jesus was baptised by John in the Jordan.[13]

I have attempted to provide resources enough, without going over board. The Books of Mark and Luke cover this as a current event, and there are countless Old Testament verses fortelling the coming of Christ. I left out OT, so as to not debate the Jewish VS Christain ideology,

Be merciful, just as your Father is merciful.

Do not judge, and you will not be judged. Do not condemn, and you will not be condemned. Forgive, and you will be forgiven.

Give, and it will be given to you. A good measure, pressed down, shaken together and running over, will be poured into your lap. For with the measure you use, it will be measured to you.

    Mark 4:24 (NIV)
Consider carefully what you hear. With the measure you use, it will be measured to you — and even more.

    Matthew 7:1-2 (NIV)
Do not judge, or you too will be judged. For in the same way you judge others, you will be judged, and with the measure you use, it will be measured to you.

This is directed to those Christians that judge others; assuming they know what's best for them. If you have an issue with a Christian, than take it up with God. Just remember, the more you judge, you will be judged too. Christ didn't judge, he taught grace, love and forgiveness. How many scripture have you read Christ judging man? So why assume you have any right to judge man?

I'm assuming this was meant for me. My apologies if you took it that I was judging you. That wasn't my intention in any way. I was just saddened that, as a brother in Christ, you appeared to be advocating the use of lsd....a dangerous and illegal drug. But, as you mentioned.....I'll focus on the board in my eye. :)

Apologies accepted and I disagree about the danger. A loaded gun is dangerous so we advocate people not having one?

Drunk driving has killed more Americans than any other drug related death. Alcohol destroys the kidneys and liver. Hell you could overdose on caffeine before you can on LSD.

Makes one wonder, then, as to why it is illegal. ;)

Abuse of anything is not a good thing. The Word says, as Christians, our bodies are not our own...they're temples of the Holy Spirit:

    1 Corinthians 6:19-20

Does doesn't it? You are ware that alcohol was illegal at one point right? Driving after a beer is illegal (now that they lowered the BAL. Do you ever drive after a beer?

Some think the government making psychoactive drugs illegal had more to do with control.

I rarely drink, then drive, I never drink prior to diving into the Word of God. I do enjoy the taste of a beer, but it's really not that important to me. Drawing closer to the Lord is my main priority as of recent. I want to be a credible witness to those who don't know Him. I want to hear, "Well done, good and faithful servant. " :)

I love Jesus! He's my best friend in the whole, wide world.

I think your heart is the true measurement of faith, not following the laws. If you go through life always worrying about being a good witness; usually you can turn others off.

As far as the psychedelics; I can think of millions of other things that can destroy your temple. I take it to be closer to him. There is something very spiritual about it. And like you; I trip maybe once every three weeks. I suspect you've drank more than one beer every three weeks right? What makes that any different?

It's not about "worrying" about being a good witness, so much as it's actually being one. :)

If you think alcohol in moderation is okay, why aren't other drugs in moderation okay?

The Sacred Mushroom and the Cross is a book about the hallucinogenic mushroom Amanita muscaria and its evolvement in the Christian religion, especially related to the Christmas traditions.

I have no clue as to the credibility of these theories, but they are fun. The mushroom is bright red and white, like Christmas colors. They are eaten often in the wild by reindeer who often act odd afterward, like they are prancing. When harvested by people, they are dried by being hung over the fireplace, like stockings. They grow at the base of pine trees like where the presents might be under a Christmas tree. There are many paintings depicting them in Christmas pictures from the 1800's, and many ornaments are have been red and white spotted mushrooms.

This is what they look like under a pine tree

So then how could you reference it's a sin? Makes no sense.
