The Seattle Seahawks signed former San Francisco 49ers cornerback Perrish Cox on Tuesday, shortly after the NFL announced that cornerback Walter Thurmond had been suspended four games due to a violation of the league's substance-abuse policy.

The Seahawks also are considering placing cornerback Brandon Browner on injured reserve because of his groin injury, league sources told ESPN NFL Insider Adam Schefter. Browner was not expected to be available until mid-December, coach Pete Carroll said last week.

And then waive him?? Looks like they are going to go with Shead. Shead is pretty athletic. Worried about his technique though.

    Seahawks release CB Perrish Cox

Cornerback Perrish Cox was released by the Seattle Seahawks a day after he was signed by the club, replaced on the roster by DeShawn Shead.

Seattle made the roster moves on Wednesday. Coach Pete Carroll had indicated on Tuesday that Shead would be promoted from the practice squad to the active roster, but waiving Cox came as a surprise.

Seattle signed Cox on Tuesday after cornerback Walter Thurmond was suspended four games for violating the league's substance abuse policy. Cox started the season with San Francisco, but was waived by the 49ers in early November.
