Yeah, ok, I wasn't paying attention to the trends. Washington has been playing well. Cest la vie! On to the next one.
Anywhoo. Bulls over Nets, 94-92. It will be a miracle.
The trend, if there is one, is that when they have to play tough, they do, regardless of who is on the court But they have to pick and choose their spots. It's like the "faith meter" on Santa's sleigh in "Elf" -- wildly fluctuating, just barely enough to get the sled to fly. So if they think they can stay on the ground, they do, only sometimes they run into some obstacle.
Hinrich 4-11 (.363), 6 ast, 0 TO, 10 points DWilliams 9-16, 10 ast, 3 TO, 30 points The foul on the last second shot at end of Q3 was good basketball.
Getting a bit one-note don't you think? If that's your takeaway from last night's game, well, oh never mind. Yeah, that foul on Williams was brain dead basketball on Hinrich's part and getting tossed in the Wizards game was both stupid and irresponsible. No excuse in either case.
I was observing that the trend continues is all. See post #266. What I saw last night was the Nets going right at Kirk, play after play. Granted Kirk isn't really suited to guard Joe Johnson, but it is what we signed him to do (when Rose comes back). You know it's really sad when it takes Boozer to come over and double team to get DWill to give up the ball. I saw that happen a few times, too. Also, when their guy scores 30 and your guy scores 10, it's like they have TWO guys on offense for our one. A 10 point guy to match ours and a 20 point guy. That is a HUGE advantage. Obviously if you can win the scoring match up at all 5 positions, you win. Think if our PG scored 30, too. We'd have won by ~20.
